"How'd it go mother?" Adrianna asks. We sat in the meeting room. It seemed to be the only alone place I could get at the moment.
I sigh, "I wish it would have been better. Your brother did not take it well...."
Isabella nods and looks out the window. She would have been a better Queen and mother than I am right now. Izze knows her way through Collin...
"Mother, when is it going to be announced to the kingdom?" Isabella asks.
I turn to her, "Soon. Just as soon as I can get your brother to actually accept this all."
She nods and so does Adrianna. We stay, not moving. Letting the silence fill the air.
"We are here for you mother." They say together, which startled them both.
I'm so lucky to have them. They are the most amazing daughters and sisters ever. Better than I was with my sister and brother.
Thinking about my siblings, I remember in the village with my siblings and mother, I had watched the castle from afar. Wishing, just maybe I could live there. Even if it was just for a day. Then my mother married into the royal family and then so did I. I thought living like this was the most amazing and perfect life. Now here I am, suffering from the worst.
Knock, knock.
My head turned and I turned fully, with such swift motion toward the door. My hand touched the door. Before I could open it, the doors opened from the outside from the guards. A servant stepped in and bowed to us. Lillian.
"Your grace. Prince Collin wishes to see you. He's in the library upstairs." Lillian says.
"Thank you." I turn my head and look at my daughter's, "I'll be back." They nod just as I leave the room.
I quickly hurried up the stairs and stopped in front of the library doors. My hand grabbed onto the knob and it swung open. He sat at the table in the center of the room. Collin looked at me and then got up.
"Mom." He said.
"Collin you asked to see me." I say approaching him.
He nodded and sighed, "You were right. I guess I now have to do what I have to do. I'm ready."
I smile, "good."

"Right this way your majesty."
I scooped up my skirts and followed up the steps.
"In here?" I ask as we approach the locked up door. He nods before opening the door. I step in taking in my dark surroundings. A small light beamed in the corner. I turned back to the guard watching me. Silently, I motioned for him to leave me alone in the room. He shut the door and I was alone with him.
"Jake" I say stepping forwards.
He stays in his position. Head in his hands.
"I never meant this to happen." He barley whispers.
He looks up and our eyes lock. My brows furrow, but I quickly put up a shield.
"You killed my husband. The king, and you almost killed my son." I snap.
Jake stands and takes a step forward. I don't move.
"Please, Elizabeth —"
"Queen Elizabeth." I say cutting him off.
"Queen Elizabeth..." He says slowly. "You have to believe me. My father wanted to get revenge. He made me do this. I would never hurt izze or any of you."
I could see tears threatening to spill from his eyes. My conscious was telling me to believe him, but not after what he did.
"I'm sorry, I want to believe you. Good bye Jake." I spin on my heal and shut the door after me. Drowning out Jake's ringing voice.
"Are you alright your majesty?" The guard asks.
I suck in a breathe of air, "Yes."
He quickly nods his head before leading into the dining area. To where I had requested Collin. It was almost August. Soon it would be September, then October. Finally, November when everything would be in place.
I sigh, contently when I saw Collin sitting down waiting. If I was being honest I didn't think he would meet me.
With a flick of my hand, the guard left. Leaving my son and I, alone. I cleared my throat, "Collin.."
He looked up and gave a half smile, "Mother."
I silently slid into the seat next to him. His gaze focused in on the sheet of paper across from him. Collin had no idea whose names were on there, but he knew they were names. Lots of them.
"So are you going to tell me about the names?" Collin asked rubbing his neck. I lifted the paper and set in front of him so he could see the names.
"These are named of princesses near and far. Whom may I say, would love to have your hand in marriage." I paused, "Collin I know this is a lot, but it's for the best. I can't rule on my own and you are the next heir to the throne."
"I know." Is all he said as he continued to scan the names. After a moment of silence he spoke up, "Who is Princess Alexandra?"
"Ah yes, she was at your sister's birthday last year. Brown hair, fair skin....lovely girl. Alexandra is from Fallista." I say as an image pops of in my head of her.
"Would she be a good choice?" Collin asks slowly.
"I would think so, but it's up to you. Although you will be meeting them around the end of August, beginning of September."
He nods and continues to look at names. Occasionally naming them for me to recall.

    "Princess Anna?"
"Auburn hair, peachy skin. Nice girl and definitely knows the rulings." I answer back. Twenty something girls I've described I believe...?
I look out the window as the sun starts to set. "I think we should call it a day and have some dinner."
He nods and stands up. "Here." I grab the paper from Collin's hand, standing up myself.
"Go get your sister's to come down. If they aren't upstairs check the garden." I say before setting out to the meeting room.
