Chapter 35: Sophie

      "What do you want me to do?" I ask. My voice must've shook because he just laughed in my face.
    "Get Collin to choose you. Then we'll go from there..." He says while shutting the door in my face.
    I let out a shaky breath and turned to run. Run away from this dreadful place.

    "I guess I should now probably tell you my name. It's Prince Collin, future king." Collin says bowing to me.
I laugh and put on a smile and bow, "Princess Sophie, heir to any throne."
He laughs and smiles, "I see...you know you are definitely different from the others."
My pace quickens a little, but I remain calm and act cool. I raise an eyebrow at him, "Is that a good thing?"
He steps forward and shrugs, "I guess you could say that."
I nod and we fall in silence.

"Lovely party don't you think?" Collin asks me.
I nod and look up at the stars, "That it is. I Love the fairy lights."

"Collin!" We both turn to see a girl probably thirteen run towards us. Her brownish-red hair bounces around her shoulders as she comes to a stop.
"What is it Rachel?" He asks.
"Aunt Lizzy needs you." She says tugging on his sleeve. I smile at her cuteness.
When she notices me she raises an eyebrow and stops moving, "Who are you?"
"I'm Sophie, Princess Sophie." I say back.
"Uh nice. Well come on Collin!" She exclaimed as she continued to tug on his arm. He gave me a sheepish grin and followed Rachel.

I squeeze past people until I come to a round table with a white cloth with pastel colored flowers around the trim.
A girl not too much younger than me sat by herself and I immediately recognized her. It was one of Collin's sisters that he had mentioned.
I sat down next to her, "You're Adrianna right?" I ask.
She turns her head and looks me over before smiling a little. "Hello." Adrianna says.
    I held out my hand and she gladly shook it. "I'm Princess Sophie."
    She nods and smiles sheepishly, "I'm guessing you already know who I am."
"Of course...lovely party." I say observing the backyard once more.

    For the next while, all Adrianna and I did was talk. Just talking about anything really.
    Knowing that I was only doing this for reasons, killed me so much. I didn't want to do this to Collin and his family.
    Never would I think of doing it to them.

The party was slowly dying as it came to an end. I said happy birthday to Isabella and Adrianna. While hugging Adrianna she whispered in my ear, "I look forward to seeing you again and hopefully forever."
We pulled back and I felt like the color drained from my face. I did too much of a good job. To hopefully cover up my probably colorless face, I smiled the best I could. Saying goodbye I quickly turn.

"Anna..." Collin trailed off as Adrianna slammed the door in his face.
I saw the hurt expression displayed on her face. It hurt me to see Adrianna like that. There was nothing I could do. Or was there?
"I shouldn't have done that." I say as a tear falls out of no where.
Collin walks towards me and embraces me in a hug. "It's not your fault Soph."
I backed up so we were looking each other in the eye. His eyes were calming and full of wonder. "Yes it is. I want to be good for this family, for you."
    "You are good for me." Collin said grabbing my shoulders. "You are good for this family. I mean it Sophie."
I give him a weak smile. "I'm just going to look this over in the guest bedroom...." He nods understandingly and I slip past him.

"Princess Sophie?" I turned around swiftly to see a girl with long dirty blonde hair.
"Hello and you are?" I ask tasing an eyebrow.
"Oh right, Sarah. A friend of Collin's." She answers.
I nod slowly before stepping towards her. "Can I do anything for you?"
Sarah stepped forward to and looked me square in the eye. "Just please, don't do anything stupid. Don't be something you're not.."
"I promise." I say before turning back in the direction I was going to.
"Take care of Collin please!" Sarah calls after me.
I stop in my tracks just for a moment before hurrying down the hallway. Once I reached the room I quickly closed the door and pressed my back up against the door.
I breathed heavily as I thought about what she said. There was one conclusion I had;
This won't end well...

AN: Sophie kind of reminds me of Jake before everything had happened....
