Why was I worrying about something bad happening?
I honestly have no idea. The human brain is too complex to understand why we put pressure on ourselves. Just like I did for a few days before Izze and I's birthday. Life is full of wonder...
So far, being sixteen was incredible. Although I didn't exactly feel older, I felt...I'm not sure how to even put it in words, but I'll say it is good.
We just finished setting up the back when people started arriving. Most of them weren't really here for us which was very annoying. They were mainly here to talk to my brother. With being future king and all.
I guess that was fine, it felt like old times. Before we had big birthday parties for all of us. It was like having a birthday lunch again, but way bigger.
Right this very second, very moment was definitely the low of this whole sixteenth birthday thing. Izze and I were told to stay put for a while. To accept gifts and put them on the long back table as people came to the party. They all came to the back, congratulating us on another year older.
Not going to lie, although I was used to different people, it always felt weird. Like meeting a parent's friend and having to sit with them and actually have a conversation.
"How much longer do you think we have to stand here?" Isabella asked irritated to the highest level she could be at.
I shifted over next to her and whispered in her ear, "I don't think much longer, it looks likes not many are left to come." She nods and we both stand there smiling as other royals pass.
Rachel skips over to us wearing a light blue dress. A slight contrast to the medium royal blue dresses Izze and I were wearing.
"You both look so incredible." Rachel exclaimed.
"You look incredible Rach." I say smiling big.
"Thanks...This I think is the best party ever. It's huge!" Rachel said as her eyes traveled over the castle grounds.
Izze laughs softly, "I've seen bigger." Rachel laughs with her and shakes her head.
"Come on guys, it's your party. You must celebrate." Rachel said solemnly while linking arms with the both of us. I rolled my eyes and followed her.
Next thing you knew, all three of us along with probably a hundred people were dancing to the music. Jumping up and down to the beats.

Taking a short break, I walked over and sat down at a small circled table. The white cloth had pastel colored flowers along the trim. Matching the fairy lights hung on the wall.
"You're Adrianna right?" A voice said as a body sat down next to me. I turned to see a girl with dark brown curly hair. Her peach skin contrasted from her violet colored dress. She smiled at me, her brown eyes shining.
"Hello." I say smiling back.
She held out a hand, still smiling. "I'm Princess Sophie."
I shake her hand, "I'm guessing you already know who I am." I say sheepishly.
Sophie nods, "Of course...." she turned her head and looked around then turned back to me, "lovely party."
"Thank you." I reply.
"Sixteen right? I remember when I was sixteen, but no way did I get a party this amazing." She said sighing.
"Yeah it's great, my brother helped a lot with it, especially decorations. I had no idea he was good with them." I say laughing softly.
"You really care about your brother, don't you?" She said tilting her head a little.
"Of course, I mean he may be closer to Isabella, but we have a good bond with each other."
She smiled and laughed. "This sounds so....I don't know, to say, but I feel like I'd be perfect to rule with him. This is such a great family and I know I'd do well helping to rule it."
"You seem fun and nice to be around, especially if you do become queen." I say honestly.
Wow, I didn't know I was going to open up so much to Sophie, but I felt like we connected...

"Anna I heard you met Sophie.." Collin says as he stands next to me. We were waiting for the guards to set of the fireworks. They were up on top of the castle setting them up, which meant they could go off at any moment.
"Yes I did. She seemed really nice. Knew what she was talking about." I say looking up at the sky.
It was quiet for a while. Although I didn't mind it. Sometimes you just need silence to think.
"What would you say if I chose her?" Collin asked quietly.
My head snapped his way so fast I was surprised my head was still attached to my neck.
"Seriously? Like betrothed..?" I ask still shocked.
He awkwardly coughed and rubbed the back of his neck, "Uh yeah.."
I embraced him in a hug, a warm, tight hug. "That would be incredible!" He laughed and I let go and looked him in the eye. "You're not just saying this to make me happy right?"
"Right, I seem to have an interest in her too. I told mother and she said to spend time with her before I truly decide." He said quietly.
I nodded just as a loud boom went up. Startling me, I jumped into his arms making my brother laugh.
"It's not funny." I mumble and look up at the shimmering firework that went off. It was a mixture of all different colors. Making it look as beautiful as ever.
Isabella stood next to me and put an arm behind me. I turned to her and smiled as she smiled back.
It was a good birthday after all.
