Next day.

I was sitting downstairs in the armchair. 

Stefan walked over to me with a drink in his hand. 

I eyed him as he offered it to me. 

"Damon's private stock" he said. 

I grabbed it and took a sip from it, cracking a smile. 

He just nodded and sat down on the couch across from me.

I looked at him, holding the glass out " you don't want some?- right, you're on bambi diet"

Stefan "what do you know about werewolves, Adelaide?"

I nodded "Straight to the point, i guess." then i crossed one leg over the other "why are you asking me?"

Stefan "you knew that a bite kills vampires. So, what else do you know about them?"

i smirked "that you should stay away from them during full moon"

Stefan asked confused "how do you know any of this?"

I raised an eyebrow amused "Who do you think was responsible for ridding this town of vampires in 1864?"

Stefan thought about it "founding families"

I sighed and gestured to him to think "spearheaded by?"

Stefan added "The Lockwoods"

I smirked at him "you remember the Founder's Ball, don't you?"

Stefan nodded "i was your escort"

i nodded "before you and Damon knew about your secret..."

Flashback.

Stefan handed me a glass of champagne. 

I smiled "thank you, Mr, Salvatore"

He smiled back. 

Suddenly we heard Damon "everyone, will you please join me in raising your glasses. to my good friend George Lockwood. George, thank you for so bravely defending the South"

George smiled next to him  "My honor, Mr. Salvatore. After all, someone had to do it"

I raised my glass with along with the others  "cheers"

Then  took a sip of it.

I could feel eyes on me. 

Katherine.

I smiled at Stefan "please, excuse me, Mr. Salvatore"

He nodded smiling and i walked to Katherine who was standing next to Henry.

"something wrong?" i asked my sister. 

Henry "I looked into those attacks from the other night. It wasn't vampires. "

Katherine nodded "that's good news. Means we have nothing to worry about"

Henry sighed "i'm afraid you don't understand. Those folks were torn apart in ways i've never seen before"

i frowned "it won't be long before the Founders draw up an investigation, which would not play in both our favors"

Henry nodded"We'll leave town immediately. I'll tell the others"

Katherine smiled "relax, Henry. This town is our home and the vampires are our family. We won't let anything happen to us"
