1.99 "Are You Still On Vervain?"

At the grill. 

 I walked inside through the back door. I saw Elena walking in through the front door. 

Connor pointed his gun at me. I raised my hands. Elena rushed at Connor. He shot his gun and hit Jeremy in the stomach with a bullet. Elena threw Connor to the ground and sat on top of him. She grabbed him by the throat and started choking him. Jeremy was bleeding profusely and clutching his wound. Stefan rushed towards Jeremy, grabbed him, and threw himself and Jeremy over a table. Then suddenly a bomb went off. I rushed behind a table. 

Elena yelled " Jeremy?!"

I looked up and saw Stefan grab Connor and taking off with him.  

I speeded to Jeremy and kneeled down in front of him. I bit my wrist and fed him my blood. 

His wound healed. He looked at Elena. She looked at the blood and her eyes started to turn red. Then they turned back to normal, she made a few steps back. 

Jeremy "thank you, Adelaide"

I nodded. 

Elena " I'm sorry – I...."

Jeremy "Hey, it's okay. You don't have to hide it. I know you're not going to hurt me."

Elena "How did this happen, Jer? Why did Connor come after you?"

Jeremy " He said I was like him because I could see his tattoo."

Elena's eyes widened confused  "His what?"

I raised an eyebrow "What tattoo?"

Jeremy " His hunter's mark. It's invisible to everyone but me. Stefan and Damon didn't tell you about it?"

I shook my head "obviously not"

Elena " who else knows about this?"

Jeremy "Well, that's the thing, I don't even know. Apparently, I was with Connor all day yesterday, but I can't remember. Someone compelled me."

I looked at Elena who was now pissed off. 

Elena "I think I know who."

At Caroline's.

I was sitting on her bed when i heard the doorbell go off. Caroline went to open the door. 

Seconds later Stefan walked inside. 

I stood up and looked at him   "What are you doing here?"

Stefan "came to talk to you"

Me "about what?"

Stefan "Elena killed Connor"

Me "guess your plan on keeping him alive failed"

Stefan sighed "Adelaide "

I crossed my arms over my chest "What's the matter with you and Nik?"

Stefan asked confused  "What are you talking about?"

I scoffed " I heard you talking to him. Making some secret deal with Klaus? really, Stefan? "

Stefan "Ang-"

Me "You're my boyfriend. And i trust you-"

Stefan "then trust me on this one"

I asked irritated "with Nik? Are you for real?! how am i supposed to trust you when you are working with Nik?!"

Stefan looked down. 

Me "Tell me why. Tell what in hell has gotten into you to work with him?"

Stefan sighed "it's complicated."

Me "Are you still taking vervain?"

Stefan shook his head, annoyed  "I'm not an idiot, Adelaide "

I scoffed "you know what, i'm staying at Caroline's for a while"

Stefan "come on, Adelaide"

Me "Tell me what you are keeping from me? what can't you tell me?"

Stefan shook his head "you wouldn't understand"

Me "i'm 500 years old, Stefan, i think i would understand"

Stefan "he will kill me if he finds out i told you"

Me "That's what you get for selling your soul to the devil"

Caroline then walked inside "sorry, i jus-"

I cut her off "don't worry. He was on his way out anyway.  "

Stefan sighed "are you really going to stay here?"

Me "are you going to tell me what kind of deal you made with him?"

Stefan took a deep breath and walked out.

Caroline looked at me "your already arguing?"

I let myself fall backwards onto the bed.

Caroline sat down next to me "wanna tell me?"

 I looked at her.

Caroline "do you still have dreams about Elijah?"

I shook my head "thank god no"

Caroline "you told Stefan?"

I shook my head "not gonna happen"

Caroline "why not?"

I looked at her "Because i don't know what he would do"

Caroline nodded "Maybe you should go to Elijah and do what he told you. End that chapter of your life. start over"

Me "go to him?"

She nodded. 

Me "i don't even know where he is"

Caroline "Call him"

I took my phone out and called Elijah. 

Elijah "Adelaide? something wrong?"

I gulped "Can we meet?"

Elijah "of course."

Me "Where are you?"

Elijah "California"

Me "Send me the address"

Elijah "i will, bye"

I hung up and turned to Caroline "happy?"

She nodded "want me to come with you?"

I shook my head "no."

Caroline "what are you going to tell Stefan?"

Me "nothing"

Caroline "What if he asks?"

Me "tell him something. Anything"

Caroline nodded.
