Next day.

I walked downstairs to the front door but stopped when i heard Stefan stopping me.

Stefan "Adelaide"

I turned to him "yeah?"

He handed me his phone"Caroline's on it"

I took it and held it to my ear "Before you start yelling your brain out, Car, i'm on my way"

Caroline " If I'm gonna be a friend in your time of need, then you need to work on your punctuality. I'm in a crisis. Where are you?"

I answered confused "home. Why? What's wrong?"

Caroline " My boyfriend is a dumbass martyr. Wait, and why are you at your house? Wait, Stefan, Aren't you trying to keep your distance from....you know?"

That was not meant for me to hear.

Stefan sighed, looking down.

I looked at Stefan who had a guilty face on "I needed some things to change into."

Stefan sighed "put her on speaker"

I put her on speaker.

Stefan " Hey, listen, I got Klaus to tell me a little bit more about this Hunter's sword. You know that map in Jeremy's tattoo? The sword decodes it. It's literally the key to finding the cure."

Caroline "Klaus told you this?"

Stefan nodded confused "Yeah, why?"

Caroline " And did he happen to hand over the sword for safekeeping?"

Stefan "Uh, what do you think?"

She sighed.

I asked careful "Caroline, what's wrong?"

Caroline "We need to get our hands on that sword. Like today. Tyler and his hybrids are taking out Klaus tonight."

At Nik's mansion.

Stefan and i were walking around the mansion. No one was here of course. Caroline was distracting Nik at the grill.

Stefan ripped off the handle from the vault and placed it down.

I opened it but it was empty.

Stefan sighed and started to walk around the mansion.

I did the same but went the other way.

 It was awkward. Really awkward.

I stopped in the living room and sat down on the sofa.

Someone walked inside.

I looked at him.

Stefan "you found anything yet?"
