1. 74 Heighten The Price

At the Grill.Night. 

Caroline and i were gonna play the distraction. They're gonna dagger one of them so we chose Kol. As much as i love Kol but Elijah wanted us to do something. We are doing something.

We walked to the bar and saw Nik and Kol sitting there. 

Caroline fake smiled  " Oh, it's you."

Nik smiled " Join us for a drink?"

Caroline "Mmm, I'd rather die of thirst. But thanks."

Then she walked away. 

Nik smirked " Isn't she stunning?"

Kol " She certainly looks good walking away from you."

Nik " I'll take that as a challenge."

Klaus put his drink on the counter and walked after Caroline.

I sat down on Nik's stool and looked at Kol " I appreciate you not going after Damon"

Kol smirked "only for you, darling "

Me " What was the fight about ?"

Kol " he came at me"

Me "Because I pissed him off"

Kol smirked amused "so it was your fault now?"

I nodded "kinda. you mad?"

Kol shook his head  "not at you"

I glanced at Alaric who was looking at me. 

Me "i need to tell you something"

Kol "what is it, love?"

I looked around pretending to be nervous "not here"

Kol nodded. 

I stood up and walked out and into an alley. 

Kol "what is it, Love?"

My eyes widened in fake shock "oh my god, Kol, behind you!"

he turned around and ran straight into a dagger. 

Me "don't enjoy it all to much, Ric"

Stefan and Damon grabbed Kol who was already dead. 

Suddenly Nik came and undaggered him. He knocked Alaric against the wall. Stefan tried to attack Nik but Nik knocked him out too. 

Nik to Damon " I should have killed you months ago."

Damon " Do it. It's not going to stop Esther from killing you."

Nik's eyes widened " What did you say about my mother?"

Damon "You didn't know I was friends with your mummy? Yeah, we have a lot in common. She hates you as much as I do."

Nik was about to attack Damon when Elijah appeared at the top of the stairs.

Elijah " Leave him! We still need them, Niklaus."

Nik " What did mother do? What did she do, Elijah?"

Elijah walked down the stairs towards Damon, holding a phone " You tell me where the witches are or I'll have my sister kill Elena right now."

Damon looked up at the clock tower and saw that it was 8:30 " You told me we had until after nine."

Elijah smiled " I'm sure Rebekah will be more than happy to start her work early."

Nik smirked "how about we heighten the price?"

Elijah raised an eyebrow, confused "what are you talking about, brother?"

Nik grabbed me by arm and pulled me to him "If you don't end the ritual. Rebekah will tear Elena apart. And our Adelaide here, will be torn apart by Kol"

I shook my head "no. no. no. no."

Elijah played along and shook his head  "Niklaus, Kol will show no mercy"

Kol won't touch me. 

Nik smirked, nodding "i know. until then she'll stay with me"

Damon warned "Klaus"

Nik winked at them "you better hurry up"

Then he speeded us to his place. . 

He shoved me into the living room. 

I yelled "you can't lock me in!"

Nik "i can't smell any vervain on you, love"

I took a step back and shook my head "Nik, don't, please! don't"

Nik grabbed me and looked into my eyes "you're going to stay here until either Elijah or i allow you to go"

I nodded. 

Nik speeded out. 

I sighed and sat down on the sofa "good job, Damon"

The front door opened and i saw Elijah walk in. 

I stood up "Elijah"

Elijah looked at me surprised  "you're still here"

Me "Your brother compelled me to stay"

Elijah nodded  "you're allowed to leave"

Then he walked into the other room. 

i followed him "Elijah, what happened?"

Elijah "Damon Salvatore turned the mother of the Bennett witch into a vampire"

My eyes widened and shook my head "no"

Elijah nodded  "yes"

Me "so the ritual.."

Elijah nodded "...It's over"

I breathed out relieved "thank god"

Elijah turned to the fireplace  "you can go now"

I sighed and shook my head "Don't do that, please"

Elijah "do what, Adelaide?"

Me "pretend that you aren't mad at me. "

Elijah turned to me and shook his head "I'm not gonna lie, Adelaide, i was disappointed. But then i put myself in your position. You didn't have to tell me anything today. But you did even though the life of the man you love was on line. "

He put a hand on my cheek "i know you. You'd do anything to protect the people you care about. That can be a blessing but also a curse"

I nodded "i know"

Elijah "I'm leaving town"

My eyes widened "what? why?"

Elijah "Esther and Finn are gone. Kol fled. I'm not going to stay any longer"

I nodded "be careful, Elijah"

Elijah nodded and i walked out. 

Home. 

I walked through the front door and was greeted by a hug. 

Me "Damon?"

Damon breathed out relieved "you're okay!"

I raised an eyebrow "you do realize that Kol would've never touched me, right?"

Damon nodded "i knew. He didn't wan to risk it, though"

I raised an eyebrow "he?"

Damon mouthed "Stefan"

I sighed "I'm going to bed"

He nodded.

Me "and thank you. "

Damon "of course"

I hugged him "Don't pull shit like that on me ever again, Salvatore"

Damon "so I'm forgiven?"

I nodded "sure"
