1.41 "Promise Me"

I jerked up and looked around. I was at Ric's place.

Voice "you're awake"

I turned to the person. 

Katherine.

I asked not surprised "you're still alive?"

Katherine smirked  "do i hear worry in your voice?"

Me "What happened?"

Kat "Klaus brought you here"

Me "Yeah, no shit but..."

My eyes widened "the ritual.."

Katherine nodded "....is about to start"

I stood up "Nik needs a new vampire and a new wolf"

Katherine "Damon was here earlier. Offered himself to Klaus"

My jaw dropped "he did what?!"

Katherine "Klaus didn't take him. He saw his bite, he said that his blood is impure. "

I crossed my arms over my chest "Damon and i are out of question, Caroline fled, Stefan is god knows where, and you're still here, there's no other vampire in town which means...he must've turned someone"

Kat nodded to the blood spot on my hip  "What is that on your hip?"

I raised an eyebrow "a scratch"

Kat went to lift my shirt but i pushed her wrist away "Ad-"

Me "Who the hell did he turn?"

Kat sighed "Adelaide-"

I speeded to her and pushed her against the wall next to the door "Katherine, what the hell did you do?"

Katherine " He made me lure out Jenna. There was nothing that I could do. I didn't have a choice."

 I growled "That's why Damon gave you the vervain. So you had a choice."

Kat " It was her or me. I chose her."

I scoffed and let her go "of course you did. And now when Klaus dies, you're going to walk out of here without a scratch and Elena's aunt dies. Somehow you're the only one that wins. How'd that happen?"

She shook her head "I didn't let love get in the way."

I added "Not even family"

Kat "i'm sorry"

Me "Enjoy an eternity alone, Katherine."

Then I walked out.

I took my phone out and called Stefan.

Stefan picked up "Where are you?"

Me "Where are you?"

Stefan "at the witch house"

Me "see you in 5"

At the witch house. Night.

I walked inside and saw Elijah, Ric and Stefan standing there.

Me "Boys!"

They turned to me.

Me "You're not going to like what I'm about to say."

Stefan "Is the sacrifice happening or not?"

I sighed and nodded " It's happening. I gave him the moon stone. i had no choice"

Stefan breathed out pissed off "you did what?"

I defended myself "I didn't have a choice, Stefan"

Elijah put a hand on my shoulder  "did he harm you?"

I shook my head "no "

Stefan "We're sticking with the original plan. We're meeting Bonnie right now."

I shook my head "It's not that simple"

Stefan asked confused "what are you talking about?"

Me "He's got Jenna, Stefan."

Stefan's jaw dropped "What?"

Me "He got Kat to lure her out of the house."

Ric "Means?"

Me "He's going to use her as the vampire in the ritual."

Ric went pale " Oh, my god."

Outside. 

Bonnie "Why did he take Jenna?"

Elijah "A punishment for meddling."

Stefan " Klaus was going to use Tyler and Caroline. But Damon rescued them."

Bonnie "Then we need to go. Now. Before Jenna's been sacrificed. I can kill Klaus myself."

Stefan " Bonnie...If you use that much power, you'll be dead. We've already been through this. It's not an option."

Bonnie "Neither is letting Jenna die."

Elijah " Well, Stefan would agree with you."

I looked at him confused.

Stefan " We're going to offer another vampire. One that he'll want more. Me."

My jaw dropped.

I walked out of the house but ran into someone "Elijah?"

Elijah "Adelaide"

Me "Stefan left already, didn't he?"

Elijah nodded "Yes. I don't think Niklaus will take the offer, though"

Me "Neither do i"

Elijah then looked at my hip.

I forced a smile "It's just a scratch"

Elijah raised an eyebrow "I know a werewolf bite when i see one"

He pulled the hem of my shirt up showing the bite that gets nastier by the second.

I bit my lip.

Elijah said nothing for a minute before saying "The moon stone for the cure, am i right?"

I shook my head "Nik said Damon got also bitten. My priority was to make sure he gets the cure first"

Elijah sighed  "Adelaide, you're not even sure if Niklaus said the truth"

I shook my head "I don't care. I'm not going to let Damon die, Elijah. I'm not that person"

Elijah sighed knowing what will happen if Nik dies tonight  "But If i kill Niklaus  .."

I finished with a cracked voice  "..you kill the cure"

Elijah breathed in "so it's either you or him"

I nodded  "and you're gonna kill him"

He shook his head "No"

I sighed "Elijah"

Elijah shook his head "i'm not doing this "

I put a hand on his cheek "Listen to me, Elijah, i want you to do what you think is the right thing. Promise me that"

Elijah nodded "i promise"

I cracked a smile.

Bonnie and Jeremy walked out of the house. Damon arrived.

Me "Where's Ric?"

Damon "grounded"

I rolled my eyes.

Bonnie "Let's go"
