1.44 Holding Onto The Deal

He pushed Stefan against a wall " Now, what am I gonna do with you?"

Klaus put a stake through Stefan. 

Stefan groaned in pain and buckled forward but Klaus held him up.

Nik " Do you feel that? It's scraping against your heart. The slightest little movement and you're dead."

I pleaded "Nik, please!"

Stefan " The witches said you had a cure. Make me a deal. Just give me the cure, and I'll do whatever you want."

Klaus took out the stake. 

Stefan fell to the ground, coughing. 

Klaus walked over to the counter, put the stake on it, and poured himself a glass of blood" Trouble is I don't know if you'd be any good to me the way you are now. You are just shy of useless. Like Adelaide"

I raised an eyebrow.

Stefan was still on the floor. Klaus had a glass of blood in his hands and crouched down to speak to him. Katherine and i looked at him.

Nik " I heard about this one vampire, crazy bloke, always on and off the wagon for decades. When he was off, he was magnificent. 1917, he went into Monterrey and wiped out an entire migrant village...A true ripper. Sound familiar?"

Stefan shook his head  "I haven't been that way in a very long time."

Nik " Well, that's the vampire I can make a deal with. That is the kind of talent that I can use when I leave this town."

Stefan got up.

Nik " Katerina, come here."

She got closer. 

He grabbed her arm. 

His face changed, his eyes turned yellow and he bit her.

Kat yelled " Aah! Aah! No. No...No. No. No."

I raised my eyebrow.

Then bit his own wrist and made Katherine drink his blood.

 Her wound healed. 

Klaus looked at Stefan who looked at him with wide eyes "You want your cure? There it is."

Stefan froze  "Your blood is the cure."

Nik smirked " Gotta love Mother Nature."

He put a hand on my shoulder and looked at Stefan " Now...Let's talk, you and I."

Klaus walked to the counter and grabbed a knife. 

He squeezed a blade tightly, and blood started to pour from his hand into a vial. 

We all were watching him. 

Nik " There it is. You want to save your brother? How 'bout a decade-long bender? And I have big plans for you when we leave this town."

Stefan shook his head "I'm not like that anymore."

Nik " Well, that's too bad. You would have made a hell of a wingman."

He started pouring the blood down the sink.

Stefan " Wait."

Klaus stopped pouring the blood and smirked  "Now that's more like it. I want you to join me for a drink."

Then he shoved a blood bag over the counter to Stefan. 

Stefan took it. 

Klaus watched while drinking his glass of blood.
