Next day. Night.

Elena got into the hospital because of something with her head.

I poured myself a glass of bourbon when i heard my phone ring. 

I took it out and answered "yes?"

Stefan "hey"

I smiled and took a sip of my drink "hey"

Stefan "how are you?"

Me "good. you?"

Stefan"me too. Did anything happen after our chat last night?"

I shook my head "nothing besides the fact that i am bored to death. "

Stefan "good thing you're already dead"

Me "i miss you, Stef"

Stefan "i miss you too. Where are you?"

Me "Home. And you?"

Stefan "I'm at Elena's"

I rolled my eyes and down the drink. 

Stefan "you still there?"

Me "didn't know you were back."

Stefan "Jeremy called and told me that she got home."

Me "and where's Damon?"

Stefan"on his way to a warehouse to drop Klaus' body there"

I nodded "okay"

Stefan "Can you come over?"

I sighed "yes, Stefan, see you in five"

At Elena's.

I rang the doorbell and Matt opened it.

Me "Matty"

Matt chuckled  "Adelaide"

He let me inside and i walked into the kitchen seeing Stefan taking a sip of his drink.

Stefan smiled when he saw me "Adelaide"

I put a smile on and walked over to him"Stefan"

I tried to kiss him but he turned his head away making my lips meet his cheek.

I raised an eyebrow but let it go "what are you doing here?"

Stefan "I told you"

I sighed  "Because of Elena"

Stefan whispered "keep your voice down"

I snapped "don't tell me what to do"

Stefan raised an eyebrow "Are you jealous?"

I raised an eyebrow "do i have a reason to be jealous?"

Stefan opened his mouth but then we heard Elena call us "Adelaide, Stefan!"

I sighed and looked towards the front door. 

My jaw dropped "Elijah"

Elijah smiled "Hello, Adelaide"

Elena "come in"

Elijah walked inside and to the kitchen.

Elena "why are you here?"

Elijah sat down on the head of the table. I sat down on the right side with Stefan next to me. Elena sat in front of me next to Matt.

Stefan put Damon on speaker.

Elijah " All we need is to take that stake away from Alaric. Once he's been disarmed, the weapon's in my possession, my family will scatter to the ends of the Earth and Alaric will follow us."

Stefan " And you'll just run?"

Elijah nodded" We've done it before. Klaus and Rebekah spent the better part of a thousand years evading my father. What's another half century while Elena is able to live out the rest of her natural life?"

I sighed "We've finally stopped him, Elijah. After everything that he's done to us, I can't just let you bring him back."

Elijah nodded  "I know, Adelaide. I give you and Elena my word. I will not revive Klaus within yours nor even within your children's lifetimes, Elena. Perhaps that will finally teach him some manners."

Matt " Why should they trust you? All you've done is screw them over."

Elijah "And for that, I am deeply ashamed. But know this, she could have been dead the instant I walked through that door tonight, so Elena, Adelaide, I leave it to you two to make the decision whether to trust me or not."

Damon suddenly joined this conversation " Not! Hello? Did that concussion give you brain damage, Elena?! His lunatic siblings will kill you the first chance they get!"

Elijah " Rebekah and Kol will honor the terms. If you return Klaus' body to us, Elena will come to no harm."

Elena looked at me.

Elijah " Do we have a deal?"

Damon " No! No, no, no, no! Did I mention no?"

Elena "Adelaide, can we trust him?"

I looked at Elijah who was already looking at me "Elijah is a man of honor. Someone who doesn't break his word."

Elena "but do you trust him?"

I took a deep breath.

Damon "your answer better be good, princess"

I sighed "We have a deal"

Damon "you have got to be kidding me! Adi, what the hell!?"

Me "You don't know Elijah like i do. Trust me. He will hold the deal"
