1.8. "And I Only Can Take That Much"

At the grill. Night.

Damon and i were sitting at the bar.

He took a sip of his drink "how was your day, princess?"

I shrugged "got to spent some time with your brother "

Damon raised an eyebrow, curious "and? how was it?"

I raised an eyebrow and looked at him, annoyed  "what do you think?"

Damon sighed and took a sip of is drink "i didn't know he was planning on doing that, Adi"

I nodded "i know"

Suddenly i heard Stefan and Elena walk inside.

I saw them sitting down.

Stefan "i'm starving"

Elena snapped "Well, spending a day with your jealous ex will do that to you"

Stefan sighed "Listen, i know you're upset, all right? but we have to take her seriously."

Elena "Adelaide doesn't seem that dangerous"

Stefan "Never underestimate Adelaide. But i was talking about Katherine. Adelaide was just easier to crack open. I needed to know the lengths that the both of them would go to."

I rolled my eyes annoyed. 

Elena "If she was going to hurt me, she would have. I was standing right in front of her"

Stefan "Elena, you caught her off-guard. And if today taught me anything, it's that Katherine's used to getting her way and that you can't trust Adelaide. "

That one hurt.

Elena "you're not actually saying that we should do what she says?"

Stefan sighed "Listen, they are sadistic, okay?. They threatened you. They threatened everyone. "

Elena sighed "yeah, no, i get it. But every day that we're together, it's dangerous. Why are you giving them so much power over our relationship?"

Stefan "Because it's the reality of our situation."

Elena "Well, reality sucks"

I looked around. Damon and Caroline were clearly listening.

Elena "this is what they want. They want us to fight. She wants to get between us"

Stefan sighed "they already have, Elena"

then i saw her leave. i saw Damon smirking a bit.

I rolled my eyes and walked out.

Suddenly I heard a voice behind me "How was the date with Stefan?"

I sighed annoyed and turned around  "There you are. I was starting to wonder when you'd say hello to your sister."

She smirked at me.

i crossed my arms over my chest "what do you want?"

Katherine "you should be thanking me"

I raised an eyebrow "for what?"

Katherine put a hand on her hip  "who do you think bought you so much time with Stefan?"

I smirked "You kept Elena away"

She nodded " "I'm a bit jealous, though. What did you two talk about?"

Me "the good old times "

Katherine tensed "And what exactly did you tell him?"

Me "the truth"

Katherine "did you tell him about...?"

I shook my head "no. But i told him that you won't kill Elena because you have plans for her"

Katherine asked irritated " Why are you so cold to me? i'm your sister"

Me "You should be lucky i'm not burning you alive."

Katherine challenged "you wouldn't"

I snapped "don't test me"

Then I turned around to leave but she stopped me.

Katherine "does Stefan know about you and Damon? That Damon knew you weren't in that tomb all this time"

I turned around to her "Don't you dare, Katerina . "

Katherine shrugged "Stay away from Stefan and i'll keep my mouth shut"

I clapped impressed "now we are talking. The jealous Kat is back"

Katherine "i mean it, Adelaide"

i stook a step to her, warning "go ahead. Tell him what you want - it's not like he's gonna believe you anyway. But we both know i can make things ugly real quick"

She gulped, trying to play hard "i don't know what you are talking about"

I smiled "want me to tell you out, Kitty Kat? because i will"

 Home.

I walked down the corridor when i came across Stefan at the front door. 

He looked at me for a second. 

I walked past him. 

He grabbed my arm "wait"

I stopped and turned to him "i don't want to hear it, Stefan"

He let go of my arm, sighing "i am sorry."

Me "and for what? For locking me in that basement? for pressuring me to tell you lies to help you feel better about hating me and failing because we both know that i was telling the truth? or are you sorry for making me the bad in front of Elena?"

He looked down. 

I nodded "You're a good actor, Stefan. I mean, you got Damon, Caroline and Katherine fooled. But not me. That fight with Elena? Fake. You could've used Katherine as excuse for that fake break up but why the fuck would you get me involved in that? "

Stefan shook his head "i shouldn't have done that"

I nodded "you're right. You shouldn't have. But you did. I don't know why you can't admit it, why you are fighting your feelings but i have feelings too. And i only can take that much."

I walked out of the house. I could hear him sigh but i didn't care.
