joshua was busy cleaning up around the house. his blond hair was stuck to his forehead from the sweat gathered amongst his pale skin as he wiped down the tops of the counter. he made sure he was perfectly cleaning the harder reached areas, as he knew tyler would be disappointed if he didn't clean them.
"no joshie! you have to wipe beneath the toaster or the dirty area will be all gross." tyler said with a giggle as he watched josh's arms flex from the movements.
"why does it matter? it will just be covered anyways." josh would whine back but that would just cause more giggles to erupt from the small brunet.
he made sure he washed every single dish in the sink, more than once, and he made sure to dry off the spots with water. he straightened up the couches so that they lined up perfectly along the marked line that was there to help tyler.
"joshie the couch isn't straight! it's gonna keep bothering me if i don't fix it so can you please get up?" he asked with pouted lips and rose tinted cheeks. his hands were clasped beneath his chin as he brought out his wide eyes to coax the older man into standing up.
he stood up and moved to watch tyler work on moving the couch so that it was perfectly horizontal. he would take some steps back to make sure it wasn't too off on one side before moving it to fix it if it was.
josh took a step back to make sure the couches were evenly placed, and let a small smile grace his glum face when he noticed that they were indeed perfect.
he cleaned up for a few more minutes before plopping himself down onto the floor in front of the television. after the events that happened a few days prior, the last thing joshua really wanted to do was sit on the couch where he made the worst decision in his life. there was other couches, but he just couldn't bring himself to do that without feeling extremely guilty.
his work schedule had been put on pause while he grieved. ashley had made sure that his completed work would be turned in on time, and she did help him with a few of his frequent clients though she couldn't do everything for him. however, with everything going on he did manage to keep himself sober which meant his thoughts were always running through his head and never going away.
a knock on the door resonated through the empty, quiet apartment. josh really didn't feel like opening the door to speak to anyone but he did in hopes that maybe it would be tyler coming back to talk.
but it wasn't.
his dark brown eyes scanned over the dark haired boy who was littered in tattoos. "what are you doing here?" josh asked in a confused tone.
"look if you came over here to tell me that you want tyler or something then good luck. i fucked up my chance so hopefully you'll make him hap-" he was cut off by the boy rolling his eyes and walking through the threshold without a care in the world.
"i didn't come here to do that. i came here to tell you that he misses you, and he obviously still loves you, but you sitting on your ass isn't going to fix anything. do you love him?" oliver asked.
his eyes were locked on josh's own as he gave him a stern look. oli wasn't here to play no games. he was here to help his friend.
the blond could feel himself sink away as he took in the question being asked. did he love tyler?
he thought back to all the times he'd smile just from watching the brunet smile too. how his body would relax itself whenever the small brunet would lean against him to rest. how he could listen to tyler speak for hours and never get tired from hearing his voice. how the past few days have been hell for him because tyler wasn't there for him to see everyday, and because he knew he did exactly what he hoped he'd never do.
and that was to break tyler.
so he nodded. "i do." he verbally answered along with the nod because he did. he did love tyler and he couldn't believe it took him so long to realize that he did. "i love tyler." he said again as if he couldn't believe he was saying it himself.
"then if you love him, you're going to own up to your mistakes and you're going to work things out like adults do." oliver was turning around to leave before he faced josh once more. "remember, tyler did nothing wrong which means he doesn't have to come to you for shit. you need to go to him."
and then he left.
