tyler had decided to take a day for himself and go out into the open. on most days he hated the thought of walking around for a long time with no plan in mind, but just for today he didn't mind not one bit. he wanted to go out and see the white snow that littered the ground like a blanket. he wanted to hear the children laughing as they thought about christmas being not too far away. he wanted to taste the specialty warm pastries that were only made around christmas to lift everyone's spirits.
so that's what he was going to do.
with no thought in mind he walked around the outlet mall with a gray beanie covering his brown fluffy hair, and a matching scarf snugly around his neck. a few layers of clothes had been thrown onto his body to protect himself from the harsh winter that had hit them full force. one thing tyler hated the most was those big gigantic jackets that were more likely to weigh you down than warm you up. so he opted for tons of clothes instead.
it wasn't really the smartest idea, as he usually ended up sick with joshua preparing him chicken noodle soup, while he rested on the couch.
with the thought of clothes running through his head, it reminded him that he wanted to buy jihoon a few items to keep him warm. he had a few things such as a heated cat bed and knitted sweater he bought online, but he felt as if putting the same outfit on hoonie made it less exciting.
therefore, new outfits for the sphynx was definitely on his list of things to get.
just then the brunet's tiny red nose picked up a scent that smelled like heaven on earth. he could hear the sound of people making friendly conversation, and he could see the small glow of colorful lighting hitting the white sheet on the floor. he let out a small sneeze, shaking his head a bit after, and followed the three signs that led him to a small bakery decorated perfectly for christmas.
a snowman with a top hat was greeting customers near the door, while a set of animatronic reindeers were stationed more towards the walkway of the building. candy canes were stuck in the ground and the outside of the building was decorated with faux candy pieces to give off a more gingerbread feel.
it was quite cute if tyler was honest.
a small bell went off as soon as he walked through the glass door, causing some of the workers to glance in his direction.
"hello and welcome to velvets! is there anything you need assistance with?" a cheery girl with very pale skin, and pastel blue hair spoke. her voice was soft and calming, a little high in pitch but not to where it was annoying. her face looked a little familiar but nothing that tyler could really pin-point.
"hi. i picked up a smell that was wonderful, and i traced it back to here. do you have anything festive for the holiday?" and tyler knew they would, but he was awkward so this question was enough to break the ice. at least to him it was.
she smiled and came out from behind the counter to show off a case of freshly baked cupcakes. there was all sorts of beautifully decorated cakes that tyler could feel his mouth begin to water.
"the beige cupcake with the red star and sprinkles is our spiced apple cider cupcake. this side has a cranberry filling, while the other side does not. we have our eggnog cupcakes topped with a caramel eggnog buttercream. chocolate candy cane cupcake, and vanilla candy cane cupcake. then we have your classic gingerbread." she said as she pointed to the said dessert.
tyler could feel his belly rumble from the sight of them and instantly he knew which cupcake he would want. it had always been his favorite since he was younger.
"he'll have spiced apple cider cupcake without the filling, but could you make that two please?" the brunet froze at the familiar voice.
looking back he saw exactly who he thought he would be seeing.
"joshua." and the blond just sent him a small nervous smile.
