Me and Harry were walking hand in hand, strolling along the busy streets of New York when I spotted my ex and his new girlfriend having coffee in a coffee shop 4 stores down.

My eyes widened and my free hand instinctively flew up to cover my face as I tried pulling Harry towards the opposite direction.

"Babe?" Harry asked concernedly, sensing my discomfort.

"My ex. Over there. Right in front of us!" I hissed urgently and all I wanted to do was to avoid looking at him and recalling the past.

Harry looked straight ahead at exactly what I was trying hard not to look and growled ever so slightly as soon as he saw him. His grip tightened around my wrist and he determinedly steer me towards them.

"Wait what?!" I hissed frantically. "No Harry! Please!" I wondered why Harry wanted to do this to me, especially since after I told Harry about how he cheated on me.

"It's alright, love... We're not running away from idiots like him, we did nothing wrong. Come with me, beautiful, I'll never let anything happen to you." Harry reassured me, squeezing my hand tighter as he convinced me to face the problem.

I calmed down and realized that Harry was right: I wasn't the one who's supposed to run away. If that's anyone, it's my ex.

Hence, I allowed Harry to guide me forward. My ex looked up from his plate and Harry seemed to notice that as he pulled me closer till there was no space in between us and kissed me passionately, right in the middle of the street for all to see, with someone in particular.

I moaned a little at the sudden kiss. Though sudden and with a different purpose, I did not feel any less love than the normal ones Harry often gives me. This kiss was filled with passion and love, more intimate than usual.

Harry tugged my bottom lips gently and I opened them slightly before Harry slipped part of his tongue inside my mouth.

The passionate kiss went on for a while but I ain't complaining. I tugged Harry's hair urgently, wanting more of him desperately. Never has my ex came into my mind, much less the initial intention to make his jealous.

Once we finally came up for air, I realized only then that we're still in the middle of the street-in my mind, I thought we were drifting away like clouds, towards the sky- and my ex was watching with a furious look on his face.

I deliberately not look at him as I smiled at Harry blissfully while he returned the same and led me closer towards the coffee shop.

"Hey, what do you call a seagull by the bay?" Harry asked randomly and I looked at him quizzically. Surely he could've chose a better time to crack jokes?

He answered himself: "A bagel." He let out a chuckle and I couldn't help but cringe.

Harry groaned at my reaction: "Noooo.... You're supposed to laugh out like like I've said something funny...."

I suddenly realized his intention, he was trying to prove to my ex how happy I am without him, with a better man (i.e: Harry) by my side.

"OHHH oops!" I then forced out a peal of laughter than sounded so unconvincing even a toddler knows it's fake, paired up with the rigid face that's my mask.

Me and Harry both burst out laughing genuinely at the same time after hearing my unconvincing laugh. We passed by my ex's table without a backward glance.

He's not worth it, I thought to myself while Harry rubbed my hand soothingly. Even without looking back, we could feel my ex's intense gaze following us, even as we passed 3 stores down.

Once the coast is clear, I blushed and said gratefully: "Thanks Harry... For stopping me from walking away like a coward and helping me walk past him confidently."

Harry smirked at me. "No big deal, that prick needs to learn his lesson anyway, breaking my girl's heart like that. Besides, I enjoyed seeing that scumbag get jealous as much as you did..." He teased and I slapped his chest playfully.

He pressed a kiss on the top of my head and murmured: "This perfect girl right here, is mine."
