Chapter 4 - Diary

I stood shivering in the cupboard, dismissing the thoughts as they would only distract me from survival. I heard no noises from outside the hallway, so I tentatively opened the wardrobe door, just by a slit.

No one was out there, so I silently slid out of the confined space and swiftly ran. Sprinted, did whatever I could to get away from that disastrous situation.

In my long dress, I kept a small diary. I wrote days of my life in here, although the days were monitored by the outside people here. If there was a day that had "gone negative", the entry would be ripped out. I'm sure what I was about to write would be controversial to the readers as well.

Monday

It's all a lie. Being confined in my cell, I was satisfied and happy. But I was living a lie. One day I got no food for five days straight. I was hungry so I opened my vault door and called out in the darkness, hoping someone would hear my calls for help. Luckily someone appeared, who I hadn't seen before - or maybe I had....

Anyway, this outside person led me to a secure room, to test something. She put on a video. But this video was.......disturbing.

The video quality was low, and featured two young girls playing in the grass. Everything was normal until a girl who looked weirdly like me approached the screen. Long story short, she was kidnapped by the holder of the camera, who's identity was never revealed.

I reacted wrongly to the video, and the outside woman, who was called Nurse Grant, called out to an unprecedented force, screaming "E-3456 is out of control.......again! We must get the drugs immediately!"

I was left asking lots of questions - but I knew one thing for sure.

This place was nothing like I thought it was. Much darker than I expected......

I need to get out of here.

But how?

I shut the book, hoping these forces wouldn't find my book, or me, ever again.
