Chapter 14 - News

"I.....don't know what my name is. I was drugged....too much of an overdose. Not too much to be deadly, but enough to make me forget or miss certain information from that long ago." E-1 explained.

"I'm sorry about that." I whispered. "Umm...do you think we'll stop The Creator? Me and my partner?"

"I think so. But be careful. You don't wanna be like the other Chosen Ones who failed. No offence to them. And please. Call her Hilda."

"Okay. How long has The Crea - Hilda, been doing the experiments?"

"Many years. I would say one hundred and forty five years. She's applied all the powers like us Chosen Ones. She'll be hard to destroy. She's getting stronger everyday. We need to act fast."

"I agree. Uh....I need to go." I nodded nervously. "Bye, I guess."

"Goodbye. And if you want to talk, get anything off your mind, please, by all means come to me. I don't bite," he grinned.

"Okay. Yes, of course." I said, backing out of the room. "Bye, mister Experiment 1, sir!"

Ugh. That ended bad. At least I got some valuable information.

"Was you okay, Tilly?" Dr Janice asked as I stepped out of the room.

"Yes. E-1 told me everything." I replied gently. I knew more information than I did before.

"What did E-1 tell you?"

"That.....I am, indeed, a Chosen One. We just need to find my Chosen Partner now."

"Yes. And I have a feeling we'll find him very soon.....you see, when a Chosen One is found, the other Chosen is not far behind....they stick together like magnets, see....they just don't exactly know it."

"I found out there were Chosen Ones before me....E-1 and Lucia Walters.....Yuki Osumi and Evan...."

"Yes. But a Chosen One cannot defeat The Creator on their own. Lucia is missing, Evan is dead.....so E-1 and Yuki are useless."

"Can't they team up to destroy Hilda?"

Dr Janice winced. "Please. Don't use that name."

"But why... Is it because...?

"We're scared of her." Dr Janice finished. "The name strikes fear into our hearts. She only wants to be known as The Creator. Her name only reminds her of her past..."

"But I'm not scared of her. I can call her Hil-"

"You should be afraid. Very, very afraid. You don't know what she's done to some people here...what she did to me...."

"Why? What did she do to you?"

"She.....tortured me. So much that I died. I had to change time so I could escape and live."

"I'm so sorry." I looked to the floor in shame. "I'm sorry you had to go through that."

"I've told you too much....."

Suddenly, I heard Dr Janice's voice in my head.

I shouldn't have told her that... I need to rewind time so she doesn't know....

I took a step back, as my heart started to race.

Oh god.....I have every power, right? Ugh, I wish time could stop so I could think for a moment...

Suddenly, Dr Janice stopped everything. She stood still, like a robot waiting to be ordered around.

I wandered toward her, and gulped. I grasped her shoulders and wished.

Please, please forget....

I let my grip go on Dr Janice, and she blinked.

"Umm.....hello, Tilly."

"Hello."

"Well, you better hurry. The Main Outcasts have some news for you."

"Okay!"

I rushed out of the room, hoping for my life Dr Janice wouldn't remember what she told me.

I was excited, and nervous, to know what The Main Outcasts were gonna tell me. I hoped it was good news. I didn't want it to be bad.

Run, Forrest, run!

I remember that movie. I can't recall its name, but I remember that line. The scientists used that movie to make me run faster. They instead said to me, "Run, E-3456, run!" and I did what they instructed. I was so controlled then. So innocent. I can't believe how long ago that was. I had discovered, seen, and heard so much since then.

I'm no longer innocent.

I'm a Chosen One, destined to destroy The Creator. I'm special.

My name is Tilly.

And this is a new chapter in my life.
