(Hi guys! I'm back from my hiatus! My quarter is finally over! It's winter break and I'm about to release a bunch of chapters while I can. So, enjoy! Love you precious readers.)

Before the students at Blue Isle High knew it, a month had zoomed by, and their long-awaited Sports Fest was going to begin.

It was Wednesday morning, the first day of events. The trio rose early from excitement and headed down to the cafeteria to fill their hungry stomachs with food.

Sam and Oliver wore the red T-shirts they had bought over the weekend together before the Sports Fest started. Sam had on red basketball shorts and crew socks. Her shoes were gray, but she put a large strip of red duck tape around them for a pop of color. Oliver was wearing a pair of red running shorts and shin compressors. Luckily, his running shoes were already red, including his hair, which was wrapped in a red bandana, which made him a stick of walking red.

On the other hand, Jack wore the blue T-shirt he had gotten with Sam and Oliver. He also had on a blue pair of running shorts, including blue crew socks that were tucked into his navy blue running shoes.

As the trio was gobbling up their breakfast, the rest of the PSSC, plus Honey, joined them at the table. Ricky had a similar outfit to Sam's, just in blue. And Opal wore a blue off-the-shoulder top that fell over her casual blue washed jean shorts. She also wore blue crew socks and white sneakers. Her loosely curled hair was pulled up into a high ponytail that was wrapped in a big blue bow. Honey had on a compressing red shirt that hugged her bulging chest and was tucked into a poofy, red tutu. She had on red thigh-high socks and sparkly red shoes. Her hair was pulled into two side french braids that were tied with red ribbons.

A little bit of time passed as the others grabbed their food to join the trio. Their excitement for the day was the main topic of their breakfast meal conversation.

"I still can't believe that you and Oliver picked the exact same events without even talking to each other about it first. That just blows my mind," said Ricky.

"I know! We were flippin' our shit when we realized it," said Sam.

"That just means we're gonna do all the group events together, huh," said Oliver with a smirk.

"You know it!" cheered Sam.

They exchanged a quick fist bump over the table.

"Shoot, I gotta go meet up with the Council now," said Jack while checking the clock on the wall.

"Ooo, we should probably get going too then," said Sam.

The group got up from their table, cleared off their trash, and headed out to where their teams were meeting up.

As they were walking over, Honey was walking in front of the pack, chatting with Jack. Sam took advantage of Honey's absence and turned her attention to Oliver. She gripped the collar of his shirt and yanked him down to her level so Honey wouldn't hear.

"Y'know, you should ask Honey to watch our events so she can see you in action!"

"What?!" exclaimed Oliver, flinching from the idea of Sam's proposal.

Sam kept a tight grip on his shirt so he couldn't get away and continued, "C'mon man! Grow some balls!"

Oliver was silent for a moment, but then he glared at Sam and groaned, "Nnnraagh! Fine!"

"Good, good," said Sam smugly.

As she released his shirt, they approached the meeting areas for each team. The group said a temporary farewell and then split into threes and headed to either side of the overflowing red or blue colors.

Sam nudged Oliver in the arm to get his attention. When he looked at her, she motioned over to Honey with her head. Oliver gulped and then took a few steps forward, only to stop midway and peek back at Sam.

Sam smirked and rushed forward. She lifted up her foot and gave him a strong kick in the butt. Oliver's body jerked forward, closing the final gap of space between him and Honey.

Honey had been waiting for them off to the side, twirling a golden braid around her fingers, and she jumped when she saw Oliver fly towards her.

Sam chuckled as she watched Oliver quickly straighten his posture and struggle with awkwardness to get right words out. After a few more seconds, Oliver's body relaxed from relief and he looked back at Sam while giving her a discreet thumbs up to tell her that she said yes.

Sam smiled and gave him one back. After she dropped her hand down, she felt a small tang of uneasiness start to swell inside her. It was strange and unknown to her, but she knew she couldn't let that affect her performance that day. She pushed away the weird feeling as she galloped over to Oliver and Honey to meet with them.

When the clock hit 8:30, the meetings began. There were three leaders on each team, one per grade. They ran the strategy meeting and got everyone pumped up for the events to start. During the second half of the meeting, there was a chance for the teams to start assembling people for the group events.

Sam and Oliver walked around and found a bunch of their friends and created a group for the Dodgeball event. The two of them were already planning on forming a team for the Basketball Group event, but they still needed three more members.

"Hmm, I'm pretty sure Aaron, Zane, and Charlie are all on our team," said Sam while glancing around the sea of red.

"Oh sweet! We gotta get them on our team!" cheered Oliver.

"Hell yeah, we do! Now, where are they... Oh! AARON! ZANE! CHARLIE!"

All three of them turned their heads to find Sam charging at them with Oliver not too far behind. Sam jumped up high and latched onto them once her arms came down around their shoulders. Oliver watched as the four basketball players teeter-tottered and laughed as they attempted to catch their balance.

When Sam dropped onto the floor, she stood back and asked, "Guys! Wanna form a basketball team together?"

"Fuuuuck yes we do!" cheered Charlie, "We were actually wandering around trying to find you just now."

"Perfect! We've got Oliver on our side too," she said, nudging her head in his direction.

"Oh, awesome! We got a badass team here," said Charlie.

"Lil' Derek is all alone on the blue team," teased Aaron while pointing at Derek on the other side.

The three basketball players followed Aaron's finger to find Derek staring back at them with a glare. They waved at him and laughed when Derek flipped them off and turned his back to them.

"He'll be fine though. Ricky will find him any minute now and form a team with him. Oliver, do you think Jack is gonna be on a team with Ricky too?"

"I feel like they will be. And we'll probably end up going against them."

"Which means we just have to beat them, right?" said Zane.

Sam, Aaron, and Charlie stared at him with wide eyes. Zane was usually pretty quiet about competitive things, so they couldn't help but be surprised by how out of character his comment seemed. Charlie glomped over Zane's shoulder's and they all burst into an array of cheers and laughter. Oliver couldn't help but smile along with them; it was a new and warming experience to see Sam interacting with her teammates so well; he couldn't help but feel a little bit of relief wash over him.

The five of them decided to fill out their group card and then start heading to the basketball courts to get pumped for the first individual event: The Shooting Challenge.
