Before the Group Basketball Games, there was a short lunch break while the volunteer teachers rearranged the gym layout. Sam and Oliver split from Jack and Ricky so they could go meet with their teams.
Sam and Oliver found Aaron, Zane, and Charlie finishing up their food at a nearby table. They sat down with them and started planning their plays before the games started.
After a while, there was an announcement that the gym was done being set up. Sam and her teammates hopped up from the table and rushed over to the gym with excitement.
When the five of them entered the gym, there was a huge wave of cheers that erupted. Sam and her teammates jumped at the sudden shouting; it had gotten even louder because the number of viewers increased from the Individual Events. When they finally processed what was going on, they realized the red team members in the audience were cheering Sam's name.
"You must've really riled up our team after what you did early today," said Oliver.
"Seriously dude," laughed Charlie, "But at least we have all this support!"
"This is crazy! We gotta show our team who's boss and win this event," said Sam with a confident smirk.
Her teammates smiled back; they couldn't help but get pumped up from her comment. Charlie jumped forward and playfully clobbered Sam. The group laughed and then started making their way over to where the other teams were gathering.
The lineup for the games had been decided and before they knew it, the games started. Throughout the event, Sam's team easily won all their games. When they reached the last round, they were conveniently matched up with Ricky, Jack, and Derek's team.
During their brief break before the game started, Sam had the boys huddle up around her.
"Alright, you guys ready for this?" she asked.
The four boys looked around at each other and big grins formed on their faces.
"Hell yeah we are!" shouted Charlie.
"Alright," said Sam while putting her hand in the middle of their circle, "Let's do this!"
They piled their hands on top of hers.
"Red Team on 3! 1, 2..."
"RED TEAM!" the five of them yelled.
Their teammates in the audience heard and started blowing up in cheers alongside them.
The blue team looked around at each other and shrugged; there was nothing they could go against the force if the red team.
"Looks like we'll have to deal with that the whole game," laughed Ricky as he watched Sam's team from the other side of the gym.
"Fucking Sam," mumbled Derek.
As the blue team started making their way onto the court, Ricky walked forward and gave Derek a slap on the back.
"Hey!" he shouted.
"Look guys, we all know that the red team is super strong. But so are we! So let's go out there and kick their ass!"
The blue team boys cheered, attempting to pump themselves up while competing with roars from the red team members in the stands.
As the teams made their way to the middle of the court, Sam nudged Oliver's shoulder and said, "You're gonna guard Ricky when the time comes. And remember what I told you–"
