As the day went on, Sam and Ricky could feel the tiredness from the early morning dragging them down. When they met up before practice, they both laughed at the bags under each other's eyes.

"Looks like it's gonna take us a while to get used to this," said Sam.

"You got that right. At least we have Opal's meals to look forward too," said Ricky.

"And her apron," teased Sam while poking him in the rib with her elbow.

"Sam!" whined Ricky.

He pushed his face into his hands to hide his embarrassment, making Sam laugh as she rough housed him a little bit more.

Once Sam and Ricky got changed, they headed out to the gym where they heard a lot of commotion coming from the cluster of players surrounding Kevin.

"What's going on guys?" asked Sam before taking a sip of water.

"Yo, Sam! Have you seen this girl at school?" said Kevin.

Sam peaked at the picture on his phone screen and froze. She choked on her water and spit it out all over the boys in front of her. While they complained and groaned at Sam for spraying them, she yanked Kevin's phone out of his hand and escaped from the group. She stared at the picture on his phone as she coughed uncontrollably.

"Sam, what's wrong?" asked Ricky.

She spun around to face Ricky with huge, scared eyes.

"This. Is. Me," she whispered aggressively.

"What?!"

"Shhh!" she shushed while hopping up and down.

"Sorry! But what the hell, how do you know that's you?"

"This was me on the first day of orientation. This is the exact outfit I was wearing. And this is literally the only day I looked like this too."

"Sam!" called Kevin.

Sam flinched at his loud voice and turned around to face him.

"What was that! Why did you swipe my phone? Wait! Do you actually know her?!"

"Uhhh..."

Sam glanced over at Ricky with pleading eyes. She had no idea how to make a believable excuse by herself.

"It, uh, it looked like your sister, huh Sam! You thought it was your sister for a second and it freaked you out!" lied Ricky.

"Y-Yeah! I was about to punch you for going after my sister, but it turns out it wasn't her!" stuttered Sam with an awkward chuckle.

"Ah man. I got my hopes up for nothing," sighed Kevin.

As Sam was handing the phone back to Kevin, she asked, "So what's the big deal with this girl?"

"I was going through my photos and I found her in the background of a picture I took during orientation and-"

"And he fell in love," teased Emerson.

"Hey! I did NOT fall in love! I just think she's really pretty!"

Sam and Ricky exchanged a quick glance, but within seconds, Ricky turned away and began laughing at the situation. Sam kicked him in the leg and whispered, "You're an ass!" which only caused him to laugh even harder.

Within the next minute, Ron came in and practice began.

Practices eventually ended and everybody returned to their dorm rooms for the night. When Oliver and Jack got back, Sam said, "Guys. You'll never guess what happened to me today."

"What?" they both responded.

Sam first explained what happened during the early morning practice and then continued to explain the crazy event that went down before practice started.

"Pfft, looks like you got a little admirer," teased Oliver.

"Ugh, what the hell. Guess I have to watch myself around Kevin AND Honey now."

Oliver was silent for a while so Sam peeked over at him to see an angry glare on his face. Within seconds she realized that it was because she had mentioned Honey.

"Sorry," she said with a shrug.

Oliver hopped off his bed and went straight over to Sam. He lunged forward in an attempt to begin rough housing with her but she caught his hands before he could. They battled against each others strength with their interlocked hands.

"Oliver I'm sorry! It's not my fault she loves me!"
laughed Sam.

Pissing Oliver off more he leaned all his weight into her and made her fall back onto the bed. She lifted up her leg and began pushing him away with her shin as she laughed her head off; she couldn't help but enjoy taunting him about Honey.

Those two get along way too well, thought Jack as he chuckled to himself.

"All in all Sam, you and Ricky just have to be extra careful at practice for now on. Especially the morning ones now that you know people from your team could potentially come by to say hi."

While using all her strength to push Oliver off her, she responded with a grunt, "Yeah, Ricky and I know. Today was a big wake up call. But I'm confident we'll be able to work thing out."

"That's good then. I believe in you guys."

"Plus, you always have us if you need that extra help. We're always here for you," added Oliver after being thrown to the side of Sam's bed.

"Thanks you guys. It means a lot," she said with a smile.

They both smiled back and returned to what they were originally doing. The trio began their nightly routine of showering and doing homework and before they knew it, it was time for bed.

Little did they know that the next month would go by in a flash, and the Sports Fest would be right around the corner.

To be continued...
