Individual Frisbee Event: The goal of the event is to throw a frisbee as far as the participant can. The farther the frisbee lands, the more likely a participant will get points for their team. The event field has two stations for each team. There are cones on the side that measure every 5 feet. Then, volunteers in charge of measuring the length of the frisbee take a long stick and line it up perpendicular to the cones and use a ruler to measure it more precisely.

When the group made it over to the field, Ricky went over to get checked in at the booth. He ran back a few minutes later and told them he was randomly picked to go third.
"That means we get to go eat sooner! Woo!" cheered Oliver.
The group chuckled at Oliver's comment while they waved bye to Ricky as he made his way over to his station.
When it was time for Ricky to go, he picked up his frisbee and the volunteer helper at his station gave him the okay to throw. Ricky began preparing himself. He took a few steps back and turned his body so that the frisbee would be straight when he released it. As he started winding up his body, he hopped forward and flicked the frisbee with all his strength.
The disk left his hand and it soared through the air.
"Whoa—" the group of five gasped simultaneously.
Before they could even finish the word, the frisbee took a sharp turn to the left.
"Oh..." they finished.
They watched the disk fly in the wrong direction and slam into the volunteer who was measuring the distance of the frisbees on the red team's field, knocking her to the ground.
"Oh my God, I'm SO SORRY!" shouted Ricky as he ran onto the field to help.
Oliver and Sam howled with laughter; they could barely control their bodies. The only reason Sam was able to stay upright was by leaning on her crutches. Jack turned away and covered the smile creeping onto his face with his hand, small snickers escaping every now and then.
"Oh Ricky," sighed Opal.
"I wonder if that person is okay? She actually fell over. How hard does Ricky throw?" questioned Honey.
After Ricky helped the girl up, he ran back over to the starting point.
Doing her best to control her laughter, Sam called out, "Ricky, what the hell was that!"
Ricky turned to face them while he picked up another frisbee for attempt two.
"I don't really know. That was my first time throwing a frisbee," he said.
The group looked at him with blank stares.
"Then... Why did you sign up for this event?" asked Opal.
"Because it looked fun," he replied with an innocent smile.
Opal facepalmed herself while the others stood with their mouth's hanging open in disbelief.
"Ricky. Come here for a second," said Opal.
Opal and Ricky went off to the side and she showed him the proper form for throwing a frisbee. She stood behind him and directed his arm, explaining how to flick his wrist and release the disk in a straight line. Sam, Jack, and Honey watched Ricky's face go red from being so close to Opal. They all leaned forward and made eye contact with each other while smirking.
"What are you guys doing?" asked Oliver.
Their unspoken conversation was cut short by the outsider who was clueless about Ricky's feelings. The three of them turned away from each other and started giggling.
"What!" whined Oliver.
"Nothing, nothing," said Jack, patting his shoulder.
Opal returned shortly with a smile creeping onto her face.
"What is goin' on with that expression?" asked Sam.
"I started processing what just happened and seeing that poor girl fall over... PFT—" she quickly covered her mouth to stop the laughter, "I'm sorry, I can't—" she barely managed to squeeze out before bursting into laughter.
Ricky practiced moving his wrist in the same motion that Opal had just shown him, trying his best to tune out her laughter in the background. When he felt ready to try again, he stepped up, he did his windup, and hopped forward, letting the frisbee exploded from his hand.
"Yes!" cheered Ricky.
"Nice one Rick!" shouted Opal.
But once again, the frisbee took a sharp turn to the left and started going towards the same person in the other field. She tried to run away from the Frisbee this time, but she didn't move fast enough and it slammed into her back, knocking her over once more.
"AH!!! I'M SORRY!!!" he screamed, running over to help the same girl.
Oliver started laughing so hard that he collapsed onto the ground. Sam had been leaning on Oliver to keep herself upright while gasping in laughter, so when he went down, he took her with him. She flopped on top of him, accidentally bumping her cast on the ground. A series of, "OW!" slipped out between her laughing fit. Jack was still trying to hide his smile with his hand, but it was obvious that he was chuckling because his shoulders were trembling. Honey giggled while patting Opal on the back as she stumbling around trying to control her laughter.
After Ricky's disaster of an event, he ended up getting disqualified since both of his attempts weren't within the boundaries of his field. The group went to the cafeteria to fill themselves up with food before they headed over to the pool for Honey, Opal, and Ricky. When they arrived, those three went to go check in for their races. The Individual Swimming Events were about to begin.
