A day had passed and I still haven't gotten a text back from the Mangler. I didn't tell Peter about the texts. He seemed too stressed about the Mangler getting away.

I didn't want to add to his stress.

We were sitting on the couch watching the TV while May was out shopping. I decided I would tell Peter about the information I obtained about Mangler faking his death.

"Hey, I found out some stuff yesterday-"

Then we heard a knock on the door. Peter got up from the couch and opened the door.

I looked over to see Mr. Stark walking into the apartment, noninvited.

"Parker, Taylor, I got some news," Stark says as he comes in front of the TV, blocking my view from the soap opera that was on.

"I do too," I say. Peter sits down next to me, once again.

"You'll want to hear this," Stark says.

I grab the remote and turn off the TV.

"We're listening," Peter says.

"The Mangler is not in jail," Stark says.

"We know," Peter says. "We found out on our own."

"I found something out about him," I say. They both look at me.

"What did you find out?" Stark asks.

"Well I was researching more about him when I found out he went to Midtown High when he was our age. I looked him up. The first thing that popped up was an article saying he died back in 1993. He faked his death, for a revenge plot cause he was bullied. He was in the photography club and the sewing club, so that explains a lot," I say.

They both look at each other then back at me.

"But why would he fake his death?" Peter asks.

"Maybe to get away from everyone. Maybe he was abused at home and wanted to get away from his parents," I suggest.

"I have more news," Stark says, interrupting me.

"Really, cause I was on a roll there," I complain.

"This is important, and it has a lot to do with you," Stark says, shutting me up. I feel a pang of fear hit me.

"And what's that?" Peter says.

Stark takes a deep breath.

"The other night eight guards were found, dead, at the prison. Decayed. Then a prisoners cell door was decayed as well and the prisoner was gone."

I stare at Stark for a few moments before realizing who he was talking about.

"He broke out Helgen," I say. "Didn't he?"

Stark sadly nods his head.

"Well isn't that great," I say sarcastically. I looked over at Peter, he looked more worried then me. This wasn't good.

"Why can't we just get rid of them?" Peter almost yells angrily. I look back at Stark.

"Thanks for letting us know," I say. He nods his head before he started to leave.

"Wait," Peter says causing Stark to turn back. "Do you have any idea where they could be?"

"No, we arrived to the scene too late," He says. Peter rubs his head with his hands in frustration. "I guess you want me to finally help with the freaks now."

"No," Peter says. "I want to be the one that takes down the monsters."

Stark nods his head before walking out of the apartment. I look over at Peter.

"You'll get them, I promise," I say. Peter looks over at me worried.

"Helgen said that he would do anything to destroy you, not me," He said before scooting closer to me on the couch and grabbing my shoulders. "He could appear out of no where and murder you in front of me."

"I know, that's why you have to take them down before anything can happen to anyone," I say while taking his hands off my shoulders and placing them in my hands. "Lets just take our minds off this for now."

"How are you so calm?" Peter asks.

"I'm used to the scared feeling by now, aren't you?"

"No, not really," Peter says. I frown. "Well, I do have something planned for later."

I smile.

"Our date?" I ask, happily. He smiles.

"Yeah, meet me up on the roof at 8," He says. I smile as I lean in and kiss him. He kisses me back passionately.

He pulls back and gets up from the couch.

"No, I want to kiss you more," I grumble in frustration.

"I have to go patrol, I'll make-out with you tonight," Peter says. I smile.

"Okay," I blush.

He then goes into his room and twenty seconds later I hear his window open and close. I smile to myself.

I'm so used to the scared feeling, I don't really feel it with him around.
