When Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 1

**Ryan's POV**

I stared out the window in the hospital room. Watching the love of my life fight for her life.

"Ryan, maybe you should go get some sleep" Carter's mom said

"I'm fine here"

I haven't left this chair since I walked into her hospital room

"She's gonna be ok. I just know it" she said

"It's been 2 days"

"I know, but the doctors said she can hear us. Maybe you should talk to her. Get her to wake up"

Carter's mom walked out of the room and I looked at Carter's almost lifeless body laying in front of me.

"Hey baby" I said quietly taking her small cold hand in mine "I just wanted to tell you that I love you and I don't know if I can take this silence. I can't imagine what my life would be like without you if something would've happened to you. Seeing you here so lifeless and not being able to hear your laugh or see your smile it's killing me." I paused and the sound of the beeping heart monitor's filled the room

I held her hand in mine. When Carter's mom told me about the car crash my whole world stopped. Carter's car is completely totalled and she's going to have to get a new one. Her ribs are cracked on her left side and she went into a coma due to the impact of the crash.

"Hey, Ryan?" Carter's dad said walking in

I wiped my tears then looked over at him "yes?"

"There's some people here to see you. A Jamie and a Ricky? Do you want me send them away or-"

"I'll go talk to them. " I said kissing Carter's hand and standing up

"I'll watch her. Don't worry"

I nodded and went to the waiting room to see Jamie and Ricky waiting for me

"Oh Ryan" Jamie said and came over to hug me almost instantly

I hugged Jamie tightly. It's rare I ever hug her but I needed it right now

"How is she?" Ricky asked as I let go of Jamie

"I don't know. She's still completely unresponsive"

"So what's going to happen?" Jamie asked

"They said she should come out of her coma in the next 48 hours if she doesn't it probably means she never will"

"Wow, what can we do?" Jamie asked

"Can you go feed Cupcake? And maybe bring me some clean clothes? I hate to ask, but-"

"We got it. Don't worry. Do you want some food when we come back?" Ricky said

"That would be nice. Hospital food sucks"

Jamie chuckled "call us if you need anything." She said rubbing my back

"Thanks guys"

"Speaking of guys have you told the rest?"

"No, and I don't want to. If they ask you, you can tell them I just don't think I have the strength to tell them yet"

"Ok, well keep us updated and we'll talk soon"

Before I could reply Carter's dad came out of her room

"Ryan! Get in here now!!"

So this was very different from what I normally write. I tried to make this as emotional as possible, but I don't think it came across this way. This whole book won't be this emotional, but there will be some heavy topics discussed. Hopefully when I write about them it won't be to emotional. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this first chapter!!

Also, a little PSA if you follow Ryan Ashley on IG you know her and Balz are no longer together. However, I've already written a huge bulk of this story so in this book they'll be together, but in my future writings they won't be unfortunately. It breaks my heart to know they broke up, but that's life I guess.
