When Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 5

**Carter's POV**

My mom got into town yesterday and Ryan is leaving for tour today.

"I'm gonna miss you" Ryan said kissing me

"I'm gonna miss you too" I said kissing Ryan "Tell Ricky I love him"

Ryan rolled his eyes "seriously?"

"Seriously!! Jamie said she loves you by the way"

Ryan chuckled and kissed me one more time "I'll see you soon"

He grabbed his suitcase and walked onto the bus

"It's only 2 weeks" my mom said as we watched the bus drive off

"Longest two weeks of my life"

My mom chuckled "you really love him don't you?"

"Yeah, I do"

"Let's come inside and have some tea. I wanna talk to you about something"

I sighed and went inside. I sat at the kitchen table and sipped on the warm tea.

"I know you and Ryan are looking into buying a house together. Does that mean you're talking about kids?"

My while body tensed. I knew this would come up at some point "Ryan hasn't mentioned it"

"Have you?"

"No. I don't want kids"

"That's not true, Carter"

"Ok, I want kids. I want to have babies. Ryan's babies, but I can't, and saying I don't want them is easier than trying to get pregnant and never succeeding" I said wiping the tears that were now falling from my eyes

"There are other ways to have kids you know. We could always freeze your eggs or-"

"Mom, can we not talk about this? I know what your going to say, but I have enough stress on me right now. I don't need to be thinking about babies"

"I just thought I'd mention it since you and Ryan are getting so serious"

**Ryan's POV**

"How's Carter feeling?" Kylie asked

"She's better. She still can't go back to work till August, but I'm hoping since summer is almost here she won't go to crazy"

"I'm glad she's better. That car crash was crazy"

"I know,"

"Jamie said Carter already picked a new car?" Ricky said

"Yeah, she got a 2017 chevy Silverado. The insurance company gave her a good deal"

"Dang, is Carter going to let you drive her truck?"

"Probably not for a while" I said chuckling

"Are you going to propose after tour?"

"Yes, with the same plan as before"

"Ok, sounds good"

I couldn't wait to finally put the ring on Carter's finger. I already missed her.

**Carter's POV**

I laid in bed wide awake. The conversation between my mom and I. Her words echoing in my ears. I don't know how I feel about kids. I don't know how Ryan feels about kids. We've never even talked about getting married. I rolled over in our bed to be faced with a picture Ryan's mom took of us. It was thanksgiving and I met a lot of Ryan's family that day. I smiled at the memories we made that day. Maybe some day I can finally be apart of Ryan's family one day. I just hope Ryan wants me to be apart of his family
