When Two Worlds Collide

Chapter 9

**Carter's POV**

I just finished putting my lipstick on. Ryan and I were headed out for dinner and he made sure I dressed up

"Ok, I'm ready" I said

"Me too" Ryan said getting up to head out the door.

Ryan and I ate our dinner with just causal conversation

"I wanna take you to a special spot"

"Okay." I said slightly confused

Ryan pulled up to this park that had a gazebo with lights around it

"This is so beautiful"

"Dance with me" Ryan said offering his hand

As soon as I took Ryan's hand I heard a soft song start. "Yours"

Ryan held me close as we danced. The song Ryan had picked describes every way I felt for him in this moment. Halfway through the song Ryan picked up a single rose handing it to me.

"Carter," Ryan said holding my hands and looking at me

"Ryan" I said softly

"That night when I went to the grocery store all I needed was milk and some apples. When I walked to the produce section and saw you never did I think we'd end up here. That moment when you ran into me, that nervous giggle you had then is the same one you still have. The giggle that makes my day better. Never did I think I would end up with a preschool teacher, and I know I don't deserve you. Your love of life, your love for your kids and everyone around you never fails to amaze me. The fact that you can see the good in every person you meet. Never have I been so thankful to have went into that store that night. Little did I know that grocery store run would change my whole life forver."

I had tears streaming down my face as Ryan let go of my right hand and got down on one knee

"With all of that being said would you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" Ryan asked holding the most beautiful rose gold ring I've ever seen

"Of course I'll marry you" I said between sobs

Ryan wrapped his arms around my waist and spun me around

"I love you so so much" I told him wiping my tears

"I love you more" he said slipping the ring on my finger

"Wow" is all I could say

Ryan smirked "Ok, you guys can come out now!!"

Just as the words left Ryan's lips Jamie and Ricky came into our view. Ricky holding a camera and Jamie wiping her tears

"I'm so so happy for you two" she said hugging us both

"And I got it all on camera!" Ricky said

"I can't believe he proposed! I had no idea!!" I said still very much in shock

"Yeah, thanks Ryan, you set the bar really high for the rest of us" Ricky said

I just smiled and kissed Ryan again. I couldn't believe that I get to marry my best friend and spend the rest of my life with him.

I'm not gonna lie I got a little teary eyed writing this chapter. I hope you enjoyed it! I really put a lot of effort into it!! The song I chose is personally one of my favorites and I know it's not something you would've expected Ryan to pick, but I thought it just went along well with this chapter!!
