"Look what I found," my aunt Laura says as I walk through the kitchen.
"I cannot believe that you found all these" Jason smiles as flicking through the pages of the photo album.
"Where did you get that?" I question whilst standing behind my aunt.
"In one of the boxes that we never thought of opening," she laughs. "Look how little you guys were"
I look down at the photograph of Trisha, Jason, and I. It reminds me of the painting grandma made for me, before her memory deteriorated.
Aunt Laura flicks through the pages. It was a picture of me and a guy from my past. Taken when I was fifteen.
"Hey, its Jeffrey" Jason realizes.
I roll my eyes.
I always did hate it when people called him by his last name. Unfortunately, it's made me call him that too out of habit. I wonder where he is now. Probably in The Bronx with Sage, causing all sorts of trouble like we used to. Or maybe he finally got out of there and set up a new life for himself like we always dreamed of.
"There's a face that I don't recognize" Aunt Laura starts "who's Jeffrey?"
"Her ex-boyfriend," Jason says.
"A friend from back home" I roll my eyes.
"Your ex-boyfriend" Jason corrects.
"So which is it?" Aunt Laura cocks a brow.
"It's her ex-boyfriend" Jason smirks.
Yeah, he was my ex-boyfriend. The man that I haven't seen since my court hearing when I was sixteen years old.
The first love that I left behind because I loved him too much.
"I'm going to be late for school, bye" I wave as Jason and I begin to exit the house. "You know, you should consider transferring to Riverside High"
Jason laughs "there's no way in hell"
Lockwood high and Riverside high are rival schools who happen to be competitive as hell during football games. Jason sees transferring as a betrayal.
"You know, I want to meet your friends" Jason admits.
Meeting my friends? Mhmm, that will go down well. Jason is as screwed up as the rest of us - he'll fit right in.
"Right" I nod "you'll fit in here"
"You mean because of my stunning good looks?" My brother grins.
How have I gone without my kid brother for this long? I should have fought harder to get him back in my life when I was released from juvy.
"Cocky much?" I smirk "I am happy that you're here...I just wish it was under better circumstances"
"Me too" he nods.
"Eva" a voice calls from behind us. Jason and I turn around to find Jenny in a bright pink skirt and yellow shirt.
"Eva?" Jason cocks a brow at me with a slightly amused look.
"Just go with it" I roll my eyes.
My family have always called me Angel, Angie, or Ang. It was only when I came here when people began calling me Eva or Evangeline.
"It was only me and Ned yesterday," Jenny says quickly "so he spent the entire day just teasing me," she says as the three of us continue walking down the sidewalk.
Jason and I took Monday off because I had to move all my stuff into aunt Laura's place. Chris and Blake on the other hand never skip school. It's very out of character for them.
