I walk down the hallway slowly. I stop in front of the door that had 14K written in bold.
I take a deep breath.
I take my fist and begin knocking on the apartment door which he slowly opens. He struggles to avoid smiling despite his happiness.
"Long time no see" I start "can I come in?"
"Yeah" he nods with haunted eyes as we enter his apartment. I immediately swing my fist at his gut. "Ahh! What was that for!" He hisses in pain.
"Blabbing my business to all of the United States" I furrow my brows in annoyance.
"I was looking out for you...speaking of which Jesus Christ Eva" Ned cries "you do realize that you have been missing for three days?"
I roll my eyes. 'Missing' is a little dramatic.
"I've been on the train" I justify.
"They're all worried about you" he presses his hand against his stomach as struggling to breathe due to the punch.
"where's Blake?"
"Eva" a new voice greets from behind Ned. "What are you-"
He stands there with sad eyes. Why is everyone feeling sorry for me today?
"Hi, Blake" I give a small wave and an awkward smile.
"Everybody we know has been looking for you" he takes a step closer in genuine concern.
I sigh "Yes I am aware"
"So uh you're single now," Blake says awkwardly.
And so his crush continues.
"Keep it in your pants Blake" Ned rolls his eyes.
I hold back my urge to laugh.
The irony though.
"That's precious coming from you" I smirk.
There's a moment of silence as the three of us exchange grins.
"So uh can you leave us alone?" Ned glares at Blake.
I glance at Blake who stands with his hands in the pockets of his jeans.
"Sure" he nods hesitantly "just don't shag on the kitchen floor" with that he pushes past me - leaving the apartment slowly.
I smirk.
"Shag?" I cock a brow at Ned who just looks exhausted.
"He's been seeing a British girl" he smiles as I shut the door.
I nod slowly. There's a moment of silence as I observe my surroundings.
"It's a nice place, Ned," I observe.
"Blake and I weren't guaranteed to be roommates so we're renting this place" he explains slowly.
Blake and Ned have a strong bond - they always have.
"So you two couldn't stand having roommates that were strangers?" I smirk as walking around the kitchen "I thought I was the antisocial one"
"What is this about Eva?" Ned snaps quickly.
I sigh. Ned is a lot like me - he doesn't have time for any bullshit. He just wants to get straight into it.
"You're the only person that I can talk to right now" I struggle to say as looking at my friend who wore dark jeans and a buttoned up shirt.
His dirty blond hair was nicely groomed, and his green eyes were filled with sadness.
"What about Chris?" Ned raises a brow with genuine concern in his eyes.
