"Are you sure that you're gonna be okay?" Aunt Laura asks as I sit in the passenger seat. "You can take another day off if you want"

I'm not used to people caring about me, it feels weird when they do. I know it sounds awful, but it's the unfortunate truth. I'm far from used to it.

I don't need another day off. I'm a senior who has commitments, I can't just take a bunch of days off. Plus I'm feeling better anyway.

"Positive" I roll my eyes.

"If you're sure-" she starts.

"I am" I cut her off.

She really doesn't need to be concerned. I'm all good.

"Aunt Laura, she said she's fine" Jason smirks.

"Alright...I'll is waiting here for you guys after school," she says.

She's going to be picking us up from school for a while because I can't walk home with all my injuries. I honestly don't mind walking but aunt Laura insists.

"See ya" I roll my eyes as carefully exiting the car.

"Call me if you're not feeling well-" she starts.

"Goodbye Aunt Laura" I roll my eyes.

She worries way too much.

"Bye guys," she says as driving off.

"How are you feeling?" Jason asks as we walk done the sidewalk.

God, now he's concerned too? I'm honestly fine. I've been in a worse state while I was in prison.

"Not you too" I roll my eyes.

"Its just...your eye is still bruised...no matter how much makeup you put on it-"

"I'm getting the stitches removed after school" I roll my eyes.

"And your fingers and ribs are still broken...your ankle and wrist is still sprained"

"Jason" I cry "I took a cocktail of painkillers this morning...I'll be fine"

"You can barely walk" he raises a brow.

I can walk just fine.

"You're overreacting...just like aunt Laura"

"You were in a motorcycle accident Angel"

Firstly it's Eva. Secondly, the accident feels like it was forever ago. The painkillers are helping me get through the day, but honestly, I find aunt Laura and Jason's nagging one hundred times worse than the pain.

"Yeah like a week ago" I roll my eyes "and don't call me Angel here"

"I'm sorry I forgot about your alter ego" he teases.

"Shut up" I roll my eyes with a small smile.

"Are you sure that you'll be okay" he softens his gaze.

Positive.

"I'll be fine" I reassure as we arrive at the parking lot.

"So which one are you in to?" He says suddenly.

What the fuck is he talking about?

"What?" I furrow my brows as he glances at my clique that stands by Sam's car.

"Is the one with the heart of gold? The ex? the fuck boy? Or The football captain?" Jason's asks.

Who says I'm into one of them? It's the twenty-first century a girl doesn't always need a man in order to be happy.
