After school on Monday, I managed to get my grandpa's motorcycle to Aunt Laura's house. There I cleaned it up and filled it up with gas.
Tuesday morning I was able to ride it to school - it sure beats walking.
I ride my motorcycle through the schools parking lot. God, I miss riding, it always did make me feel alive. I remove my helmet once I park the bike, my hair caught in the wind as I jump onto the hard ground.
"I thought you were new and improved?" Sam smirks as I walk up the steps with my helmet in my right hand.
"Old habits die hard I guess," I say simply before entering the school through the double doors.
"You think you're a different person" he whispers in my ear "but you're not"
I clench my and watch as he mocks me.
"You can go get fucked" I swing my fist into his stomach before storming away.
The girl he knew in New York was angry and out of control. She was damaged and traumatised from the lost of her sister. The only reason Sam would want that girl back is to feel less broken.
"What do you say we all get tattooed tonight" a voice cries from beside me as I open my locker door.
"You serious?" I cock a brow.
"Dead" Jenny smiles.
Sweet innocent Jenny wants a tattoo? I thought I'd never see the day. I'm down. I can never say no to tattoos.
"Alright, who's coming?" I nod amused.
"We all are of course" she grins.
All? Even Sam? Ugh just great. Well, he's been there for all my other tattoos, I guess it wouldn't be a tradition if he wasn't there for this one.
"....Okay, then whose getting tattooed?" I ask her.
"They're all on the fence" she informs.
All on the fence? In my experience, once you're at the moment you end up getting one, no matter how unsure you are.
"They'll all get one," I assure her "everyone does in the spur of the moment"
She smiles "You sound like you know from experience"
"All done" the artist announced.
"You actually did it Sam" I laughed "did ya feel left out?"
"Well you have your angel wings its only fair if I do too" he admired his body through the mirror.
"You only got one wing you dope" I laughed.
"You only need one to fly" he kissed my lips gently as I held his head with my two hands.
"Hey, Sam your body's marked" Jenny points out as he walks past us "how do you feel about getting more body art? We're going tonight, you should join us"
I shoot Jenny a dangerous look. Ugh. I high key don't want me to come.
"Yeah maybe I should" he folds his arms with a smart ass grin "Eva do you have any ideas?"
"No, I don't" I clench my jaw.
"Where did you get this one done?" Jenny glares at his right arm where she sees his wing.
Sam's wing starts from the middle of the top of his back and works its way to his shoulder and entire arm. I was right there with him when he got it.
"Back in the Bronx," Sam tells her before flashing me a cocky smile.
"You used to live in the Bronx? So did Eva" Jenny looks at me.
"You don't say" Sam smirks at me, "you look a bit annoyed there, Eva"
"Do I?" I say with a murderous gaze.
"Just a little" Ned notices when approaching us.
Ned than makes his own conversation as Chris and Blake join us, but I don't keep my eyes off Sam.
He's an arrogant piece of shit. I hope the tattoo artist fucks up his tattoo.
"So we can all agree on Friday night?" Jenny asks the group.
They all nod in compliance as I furrow my brows in realisation. The bell rings causing the group to go their separate ways.
I jog to Sam's side.
"Hey" I call. Sam turns his head to me and furrows his brows in confusion. "I know what you're doing, you're trying to make me angry...that way you can get her back"
It's so obvious, Sam wants to me to return to the girl I was back in the Bronx. That angry, reckless, scared, little girl.
Sam nods slowly as sliding his hands into the pockets of his letterman jacket.
"Oh, I think you're mistaken," Sam says, leaning closer towards me, "I already do" his warm breath sends a tingling sensation through my body.
