Chapter 2

After arguing in the car, I decide to bring Forth to a café where I usually visit with my friends. Forth looks down. He didn't say anything again after he confessed to me. Yes. He said that he wants me, but all thing that I can do is only curse and start the engine.

I order Oreo milkshake while Forth wants Americano. Bitter.

"Let's talk' I say. Honestly, I don't like it when Forth remains silent like this. We need to discuss something. Even I know this 'something' will refer to that night and Forth's feeling.

"I'm sorry if I curse too much." He observes my face then he smiles at me.

"No need to say sorry, Beam. I know I'm at fault. But seriously, Forth can't keep this feeling to myself. I need you to know that I really want to take responsibility,"

"Can't you stop talking about 'responsibility'? I'm not a woman. I have told you hundreds times, I won't get pregnant. There is nothing to be responsible about." Forth gives me smirk.

"So.. What do you want to call it, Beam?" Forth look at me intensely. I drink my milkshake to avoid his gaze.

I sigh, "Forth. Let's forget about that night. We were both drunk. And...." Forth put his palm in front of him, try to stop me talking.

"no.. I won't forget it, Beam. Even though I die, I won't. I love you, Beam. Can you give me a chance?" He begs. I'm speechless.

"I............ I don't know, Forth. You know.. we are friends. You, me, Kit, Pha and other kids. We are drinking buddy."

"You're different case, Beam. You are not a friend, and I won't make you become one. I want you to be my lover, Beam. Can we start?"

I don't know how many times I have sighed in front of him today.

"I give up. Just do whatever you want, Forth. No matter what I say, you will not listen to me. But, you must remember that it doesn't mean I accept you as my boyfriend. I want you to act normal, like we used to do." Forth drinks his coffee and gives me a big smile.

'Thank you Beam. Thank you," He stands up and sits beside me. I haven't say anything he directly hugs me. "Thank you na" he whispers in my ear. i hope Forth cant hear my heartbeat right now. I feel shy, yet I feel safe at the same time.

6 P.M

I just finished taking a bath when someone knock on my door. It is Pha. He wears black t-shirt and bring a plastic bag which is full of snacks.

"sorry, Pha. I just want to text you and Kit about the assignment, but you are here already." Pha remains silent. He puts the bag on the table and sits on my bed. I can feel something isn't right.

"Pha...?" Pha looks me and give me a smile.

"the assignment.. it can wait. I will do it soon, you guys don't have to worry. We need to talk Beam about...." Pha hasn't finished his words when I hear Kit knocking the door.

"Ai Pha. Why don't you wait me? By the way. Has he told you yet?" Kit points at me.

Wait... I don't understand the situation right now. My best friends suddenly come to my room, but they don't want to talk about the assignment?

"Wait guys.. I don't understand what you are talking about. I....."

"Forth" Kit cut my words. I'm shocked. I think I know what kind of situation I'm in right now.

"You and Forth.. are you guys dating?" Kit hits the bulls' eye.

"No. we are not."
