Chapter 3

Tonight I plan to sleep earlier because tomorrow I'll have class and group discussion until evening, so I need to save up my energy. Yet, I received a message from Forth.

Let's meet up at Japanese restaurant near campus. I'll wait until you come.

Shit. I thought that he was joking when saying he would take me to eat out for dinner.

Forth is always able to get on my nerve. I want to ignore his message, but he said that he will wait.

Finally, I decide to go to the restaurant. I'm still wearing my uniform since I had to discuss some new materials from my lecturer. I see Forth already sitting in the corner while drinking a glass of ice tea. Hmm... no coffee today?

"Beam..." Forth waves his hands after he spotted me in the front door. Now, people look at me weirdly.

"Can't you act normally? No need to yell. I can see you clearly," I scold him.

"You can 'see' me?" He asks. I raise my eyebrow. Of course I can see him.

"Are you tired, Beam?"

"Deadly. I just came from my faculty. And I'll have class tomorrow till evening. I wanted to sleep earlier. But since you threaten me, I can't," I put my phone on the table and call the waitress.

"I'm sorry, Beam. I didn't mean ...." Forth looks down. I know he feels sorry. I didn't intend to be angry with him. I just..... He drives me crazy.

"Don't worry about it. I'm already here, and I'm really hungry. I haven't had any foods since afternoon, so don't make such a face," Forth put the menu in front of me. Well.... I'm not a picky eater.

During our dinner, Forth keeps talking. I can see his effort, but I still don't know how to react. Forth talks about his plan to go hiking; he even invites me to join him. No... I don't like it. I prefer beach and go diving.

We finish our food after thirty minutes. I had sweet shrimp sushi and miso soup. They were delicious.

We walk together to the parking lot.

"Here is your car," he stands beside me. I open the door, "How are you going to go home?" I ask. I expect that he would beg me to let him drive the car.

"Forth drives a car here." He presses the remote, then I see a SUV car blink its lamps. He brings a car?

"Oh...." I mumble. F**k... I sound disappointed. Fortunately, Forth doesn't realize my response.

"Safe drive, na Beam. I'll call you later," forth walks away, and I start feeling weird.

"Forth...." He turns head, waiting for me to talk. "Thank you for the dinner." He smiles and waves his hands.

My heart starts pounding. Like hell... I'm not a high school student who just fell in love. Wait..... did I say fall in love?

My second class just finished at 11. I have 2 hours before my group discussion.

By the way, Forth neither called nor texted me last night. No. I didn't wait for his call or his message. It is just weird that he didn't do like he said.

"Do you want it, Beam?" Kit offers me his noodle. I shake my head.

"Are you waiting for a call?" Pha asks me while drinking cola.
