Chapter 8

Beam POV

I receive a call from P'Mao, my older sister when I'm watching a new series on TV. Huffftt I will miss some good scenes today.

"Hello, P'Mao? How are you doing?"

"Hei, Beam. I'm just great. Busy taking care your nephew and handling patients. How's college?"

"Nothing special. I just finished  my midterm tests. I did well, but not as good as Phana," I comment. Yeah.. Having a smart ass friend like Pha isn't really good when your family members expect you to be the best one.

I mean.. I'm happy  and grateful with my competence. And I want to be a doctor to help other people, but my parents used to complaining about my score.

I never get below C, but not all A like Pha. This kind of situation made my parents always says "Study harder, like Phana. At least you can be top 5 in your faculty "

The outcome isn't bad. I'm always able to enter top 7 in my faculty. Only once I became 5th. Now, seems like my parents trust me. They hardly call me to remind about my rank.

"Don't force yourself. I believe you have done your best. By the way, how are Kit & Pha? I miss them so much. Last time when I was in Bangkok, Kit went to his hometown, and Phana went overseas with his family. Wish I could see them at that time. I need more younger brothers," P'Mao nags.

In my family, it is only P'Mao who understand me. She is really really really good sister.

"They are fine. They have got boyfriends. You know, Pha is with his first love, that cute junior that I told you." I share my friends' love life.

"Ouch.... I'm happy for them. It's good. You shouldn't waste your youth only by studying. That's boring. How about you, Beam? You got girls or.........?" My sister suddenly ask me. What should I say?

"I...........errrrrrr........ I get a boyfriend," I bit my lip when confessing.

There is silent in the other side. My sister doesn't say anything until, "Who is the guy? Your classmate?" Her question sounds scary.

"No... He is from engineering faculty. He is one of my drinking buddies."

"Do you love him?"

"I do. I never thought that I would like a guy. But.... He makes me feel happy and loved. He is always patient listening to my harsh words. He is caring,"  Forth shouldn't know what just I said. I compliment him to my sister. He must be proud.

"Good. If he is a jerk, I will kill him. Have you told Ram about it?"

"No..... Our family hasn't known about it. Can you please keep it as a secret first? I need to choose the right time to tell everyone."

"Alright. You better tell your boyfriend about Ram. I believe Pa and Ma will be okay as long as your study isn't affected, but I'm not sure about Ram. Your brother is an asshole when he is being protective of you."

Ah..  I haven't told you. I have two siblings, P'Mao and P'Ram. They are twins. P'Mao is four minutes older than P'Ram, and they are eight years older than me. My parents told me that both of them begged and cried  because they wanted younger sibling. Then,  I was born. That's why my sister and brother love me very much. I remember that they used to kiss me a lot until I entered elementary school. They also like pinching my cheeks. Well... It still happens whenever we met.

P'Mao is  a vet. After she got married two years ago, she moved to London since her husband established a company there. Luckily, she opens her own pet clinic now.
