Chapter 16

Forth POV

"Beam? What are you doing here?" I can't hide my shocking face. Is it really my cute boyfriend? no... the right question is Why is he here?

Beam doesn't reply my question. He lower his head, then take my hand. He interlocks our fingers, and whisper in my ear, "Sorry for your loss, Forth."

Beam is holding my hand when people, who mostly my family, can see us anytime.

Am I dreaming?

"What are you doing here?" I repeat my question. Still.... Beam doesn't say anything.

We are holding hands for an hour or so without saying any words, until people go back to their house one by one. I see my mom and P'Faying walk from the front row.

"Forth... you haven't had your dinner. You should eat, dear." She looks at me with worried expression, then takes a glance to someone beside me, "Oh... who is he?" My mom looks at Beam curiously with smiling face. Her facial expression changes all of sudden. I guess P'Faying has told her about Beam already.

Well.... I don't have to hide anything, then.

"It's Beam, my boyfriend,"

"Sawadee Aunty. I'm Beam. I'm sorry about grandma, and sorry for coming late," Beam greet my mom.

"No..no...no.... It's okay. Thank you for coming. I think Forth need companion since he is not close with his family here. He was all alone for these past four days. I'm glad you come. Sorry I couldn't welcome you, son," My mom hugs Beam, and excuses herself. She looks really tired.

Beam faces me and says, "So you haven't eaten, huh? Let's find something to eat, then."

Beam directly drags me outside, and ask me to find a car to be driven. I decided to lend one of my uncle's car.

"Where do you want to eat?" Beam asks.

"It's you who want to eat. I'm not hungry, Beam."

"No... you should eat. Your mom said you haven't eaten anything since afternoon. You will get sick if you keep being stubborn. So... now let's go to the nearest restaurant!!" Beam hits my arms as he points at the street.

I decide to bring him to a Thai restaurant near Chareonrat Road. The waitress writes our order and leave us with mineral water. Weird... Beam take a seat beside me, not in front of me like his usual habit.

"Are you still angry?" Beam looks at me. I'm taken back from his question. My mouth is shut.  "Don't say you are not, because I know you are mad at me because I went out with my friend,"

"......."

"Forth....." he pulls my body to face him straightly. "Say it. Are you angry with me?" His sparkling eyes stare at me intensely.

Seriously... I want to kiss him right now.

"I was," I only utter those words.

"So not anymore? Are you sure?" He tries to find honesty from my expression. I know he is in doubt because of my weird action that night.

"Uhm...." I simply answer while smiling.

Yes... I'm not angry at him anymore.

How can I get angry when I have been missing him, and he is coming from Bangkok to see me in Chiang Mai?

"Good. Don't ever get angry, and keep silent without any words again. Okay?! I miss you, Forth" Beam hugs my arm, and sigh.

HE SAYS WHAT? HE MISSES ME? REALLY?
