Chapter 27

Beam POV

I walk faster to emergency room. My supervisor, P'Tan, order me to be his assistant for a new patient. A traffic accident. I feel happy when the senior trust my competency. At least, it proves that I'm capable enough to be a doctor. Since my first day, P'Tan have always taken care of me. He never forgets to give me a 'lecture' after lunch. I'm lucky that my supervisor isn't as complicated as Kit's.

My best friend has a lousy supervisor. His name is alex-something, sorry I don't really remember his name. Kit likes to nag lately because of stress. He barely has lunch because his supervisor stays in his room until worktime end. As subordinate, Kit can't leave and enjoy his own food as his please. His boyfriend, Nong Ming, wanted to send him food and sweet drink at lunch, but stupid Kit refused because of his ego.

If only Forth's internship weren't in another district, I would ask him to eat with me twice week. He started his internship last Monday. Even though he is far away, lucky him that he just has to work only six hours a day. Well.... It's good actually, since he will pick me up in the hospital and have our dinner together.

"Nong Beam.... Do you want to go home now?" P'Tan greets me from his desk.

"Yes, P."

"Good then.. I will too. Do you want to have dinner with me?" He stands up and takes off his coat even before I answer his question. "Let's go," He taps my shoulder.

He orders me to get into his car, but I feel weird. Forth will come in few minutes, and I don't want to make him angry nor worried if I don't show up in front of him.

"P.. I want to make a call, can you wait?" P'Tan nods his head, and starts the engines.

I dial Forth's number, but he isn't picking up. He must be on his way now, and it makes me more worried. I just want to get into the car when I hear Forth's voice.

"Beam!!" He runs and grabs my hand. "Where are you going?"

"I..... hmmm.... That... My supervisor suddenly asked me to have dinner with him. I just called to inform you, but you didn't pick it up."

"You.. eat with him?? Alone?" I can sense something scary from his tone. And it goes worse when P'Tan calls me.

"Beam.. are you done? Let's go!" P'Tan gets out from his car. He seems surprised seeing Forth who is still grabbing my hand.

"Who is he?" P'Tan is starting to be annoyed.

"I'm Forth, Beam's boyfriend." Forth doesn't let me answer P'Tan's question. It is like he wants to start a war.

"Oh..... so... you have boyfriend Beam?" P'Tan ignores Forth and looks at me with confused expression. He obviously doesn't believe what Forth said.

"Yes... he is my boyfriend P." It feels weird that I have to explain my relationship to my supervisor. I definitely have no idea what is happening, but I get the feeling that I should neutralize the situation (read: Forth's hot head).

"Do you want to join us, Forth? We will have pizza." Forth is glaring at me. I know he is thinking deeply whether to join us or to force going home with him.

"No... I don't feel like to eat pizza now. So... you want to go with him alone?" Forth just moved his head to point at P'Tan. It is impolite, but I can't give comment about his attitude. Now.. I have to choose, whether leave my boyfriend here and follow my supervisor or leave P'Tan and go home with my boyfriend.

Forth sighs. He lets my hand go and say, "Just go then. Call me when you are home. I'll sleep only if you call me first." Forth strokes my head and walks to his motorbike. My heart feel heavy, but I can't say anything. Forth speeds up until his back disappears from my sight.

"Let's go," P'Tan calls me to sit in his car.

"What topping do you want? Beef? Or mushroom? Should we add cheese?" P'Tan is busy reading the menu while my mind is going somewhere.

"Yeah.. that sounds good," I answer shortly.

After telling the waitress what we would like to order, P'Tan starts our conversation. He asked me about hospital and other related things. I'm not really into our discussion until he brings my relationship.

"It's kinda surprised me that you have boyfriend. He even did come to pick you up at hospital. How long have you been together?"

"Not long ago... about eight months or something,"

"ohh... so you don't know when your anniversary is, then?!"

"I don't really like silly thing. It isn't my style."P'Tan laughs when hearing my answer.

"You're cute."

"Sorry?"

"I said you are cute, Nong."

What the hell.

"I'm sorry if it sounds weird, but I have been attracted to you since the first time we met. Unluckily, I just knew that you have boyfriend already, so I think I would not have a chance to chase after you." He smiles at me. I can feel he is sincere with his confession, no..not the part he liked me, but when he said he would give up on me.

I'm not being over-confident, but seriously, it is uncomfortable knowing that someone likes you while you never feel the same. The only one I think when P'Tan told me his feeling is Forth. I wonder he has his dinner now or not.

I ask P'Tan to drop me off in Forth's apartment. It is already 10 PM. I'm sure my boyfriend hasn't sleep yet, but I don't know about his dinner. I knock on his door. I don't have to wait for so long until he opens the door.

"Beam?!!" Forth smiles as soon as he sees me. "Why are you here at this time?" I don't answer his question. Instead, I walk into his room and put pad thai that I've bought before.

"Are you afraid I'm angry with you? Don't worry Beam. I have changed. I will not get angry without any reasons again. I did promise you right?" Forth follows my step slowly. I turn my back and stop walking.

"P'Tan told me that he liked me...." I stop my words to read Forth's expression. Unfortunately, I can't read his. That is why id decided to tell him more before he goes mad. "But P'Tan said he will not chase me because he knows I have you."

I smile to assure him. Forth still doesn't say anything, but he hugs me immediately. "I was afraid what would happen if I didn't come to pick you up."

I laugh. My possessive boyfriend is seriously cute when he gets jealous. "Even if you had not come. I would have told him my boyfriend is so handsome, so he should give up since I will never leave my boyfriend."

Forth tighten his hug and kiss my nose. "It is nice to hear it from you. Then, let's go to bed." Forth pulls me to enter his room.

"Hei... you must eat your dinner first."

"Forget it. I can eat something else later on,"

I'm sorry for not posting this chapter last week. I'm really really busy (again) with my works.  Starting from now on, I can't guarantee when I will post next chapter. I'll post it when I get more free time.
