carving pumpkins: Eddie's mom always bought pumpkins to put outside the house in the fall. But, she never let Eddie carve them because he could ''cut himself'' or cause his "'allergies' to act up". This year though, Eddie and Richie were carving them together.

"Cmon Eds please? She's not even home. We'll each carve one." Richie had begged and eventually Eddie gave in.

Now they both had carving knives. Richie had, however, allowed Eddie to cover the table with newspaper. Both boys sat down and got to work.

Richie was constantly losing focus on carving, instead he would look over and watch Eddie. His lips were pursed and his brow was furrowed; his focused face was one of the cutest things Richie had ever seen. Eddie was oblivious to Richie's eyes on him though, and focused on carving carefully.

He was being so cautious, it almost made Richie laugh. Eddie was doing a basic jack-o-lantern, which Richie had informed him was "basic as fuck."

"Why don't you focus on yours, Trashmouth?" Eddie countered back after Richie teased him on his choice for the third time. Richie laughed and shook his head, going back to his pumpkin.

Half an hour later both boys finished. They set their knives down and looked at the pumpkins.

"Ready to reveal?" Richie asked with a grin.

"Whenever you are." Eddie chuckled and turned his. Richie clapped slowly in mock politeness and Eddie punched him in the arm.

"No really, I think it looks great Eds."

"You know I hate that." Eddie rolled his eyes, but couldn't fight the grin tugging at his lips. He loved when he and Richie argued like that, when Eddie could tell there was love behind each word.

Then, Richie turned his around and Eddie's thoughts changed completely. He didn't know why he hadn't predicted it, but right there on his pumpkin was a poorly drawn penis. Richie cracked up laughing, holding his stomach as he turned it some more. There was an arrow pointing to the carving with Eddie's name at the end.

"You're an asshole, Tozier." Eddie glared at him.

"Yeah, but I'm your asshole." Richie continued to laugh.

Eddie shook his head and eyed the piles of pumpkin guts and seeds on the table. He had done his best not to touch it too much, but now he grabbed a handful of the slimy substance and chucked it at Richie. It hit him right in the face, and this time Eddie lost it. He was laughing so hard, his cheeks were turning red. And although it was the cutest thing in Richie's eyes, that didn't stop him from grabbing his own handful and throwing it at the smaller boy. It missed his face but hit Eddie in the gut, pumpkin remains falling onto his fanny pack.

"You're dead." Eddie looked at him, smirking. They both threw pumpkin guts at the other, hitting the counters and the floor more than their target. Richie had dropped some down Eddie's shirt and Eddie got his revenge by smearing some in Richie's hair.

When they were out of ammunition, Richie and Eddie collapsed back into their chairs and caught their breath. Richie took his glasses off and cleaned them, grinning at the boy opposite him. Eddie smiles back and wiped guts off his forehead. Richie opened his mouth to say something, but before he got it out, Eddie kissed him. Richie kissed back and smiled against Eddie's lips.
