Eddie was sleeping restlessly next to Richie, tossing and turning as his mind filled with memories of his late father. His eyes snapped open as he sat up, his chest heaving. His sudden movement had also woken Richie, who sat up next to his boyfriend.

"Eddie? What happened?" he asked, instantly concerned. Eddie was trying to catch his breath and restrain from crying.

"I-I had a dream..."

Richie knew better than to ask questions, and just hugged Eddie. Once he felt Richie's arms around him, Eddie broke down and let his tears fall. He just sobbed as Richie held him, hating himself for being so weak.

"W-Why did he have to die?" Eddie cried to Richie, who had no idea what to say. Richie's heart broke and he had no idea how to help Eddie, he didn't know what to say. So he didn't say anything. Richie took a deep breath, and sang.

"When I look into your eyes,
It's like watching the night sky.
Or a beautiful sunrise.
Well there's so much they hold..."

Eddie looked up at the boy through his tears and sniffed. He curled up and layed his head on Richie's chest, feeling soothed by his soft voice and steady heartbeat.

"I won't give up on us,
Even if the skies get rough.
I'm giving you all my love.
I'm still looking up."

Richie closed his eyes as he sang, rubbing small, comforting circles on Eddie's back. Eddie felt himself begin to calm down, his tears slowing as he closed his own eyes.

"And when you're needing your space,
To do some navigating.
I'll be here patiently waiting,
To see what you find."

Eddie's breathing evened out as his grip on Richie loosened. He began to doze off as Richie rubbed his back and sang quietly. And as Richie finished the chorus, Eddie fell asleep.

"Cause even stars they burn,
Some even fall to Earth.
We've got a lot to learn,
God knows we're worth it.
No, I won't give up on us."

And after covering them both up and laying down completely, holding his boyfriend close, Richie finally fell back asleep with the love of his life at peace again.
