Richie had invited Eddie to come to the movies with him, but Eddie had said he was too sick to come. Richie knew he had a cold. but Eddie's mom had blown it way out of proportion.
Richie had decided to bring a movie over instead, along with some soup he bought at the store (but he'd tell Eddie he made it). Richie carried the grocery bag with "Ghostbusters" and a can of soup inside on the handlebars of his bike as he rode. Once he reached Eddie's house, he knocked on the door seeing as his mom wasn't home. Seconds later, Eddie opened the door. He looked just fine to Richie- maybe a little pale.
"Hey Rich... what are you doing here?" He asked and sniffed, his stuffy nose obvious in the way he talked. But Richie had to admit it was cute.
"You couldn't go to the movies, so I brought the movies to you." Richie smiled and walked in without being invited. Eddie shook his head and followed, closing the door. Richie went to the living room and put the movie in. He put the soup in the microwave and smiled at Eddie, who just watched him.
"Alright" he poured it into bowls and got blankets, "your sick day can officially begin."
Richie set the soup on the coffee table and sat down, motioning for Eddie to sit on his lap. Eddie hesitated but eventually obliged, smiling as he felt Richie's arms wrap around him.
Later, after both boys had finished their soup, Richie reclined out on the couch, pulling Eddie down too. Eddie looked at him, assuming Richie was joking and was going to push him off the couch, but Richie's eyes were glued to the TV and he held Eddie close to his chest. Eddie blushed deep red, hiding his face in Richie's chest. Richie's hands ran through Eddie's hair, which was curly and untamed today since he'd been too tired to gel it. Eddie wrapped blankets around them, his small body pressed against Richie.
"You're so cute Eds." Richie pinched his cheek and Eddie rolled his eyes, blushing still.
"Shut up and cuddle with me, Trashmouth."
Richie didn't object, pulling the small boy wrapped in blankets closer. He rested his chin on Eddie's head after placing a small kiss on it. Eddie's hands found Richie's, and he laced their fingers. He didn't know what was going on, but Richie made him forget he was even sick. He felt on top of the world, laying there in his arms, cuddled up and watching movies. It was like nothing else mattered. Eddie brought Richie's hands to his lips, kissing both softly. And for once, he didn't mind being sick.
