Hey guys :) welcome to chapter 3! There is a little foul language in this scene, please don't be too offended haha. Enjoy :)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Myeongdong is so cool. It's one of the main touristic destinations in Seoul. There were so many people, and many foreigners too. Markets, retail and makeup stores, and boutiques were everywhere I looked. Of course, the scenery wouldn't be complete without countless street food stands at every square-meter on either side of the street. I stopped at one and ordered some gyeranbang and hotteok, foods that actually resembled what I would eat for breakfast back home, but the cook told me to try out some of the "good-stuff" instead. Oh yeah, he's right, I'm supposed to be eating like the natives, what was I thinking? I ditched the egg cake and the pancake and went ahead with jjinmandu, chapssalteok, and odeng. I definitely stayed away from the sundae though, I just couldn't bring myself to eat pig blood... like ever. Korea has a reputation to sell really delicious street food, and man, people weren't kidding. I devoured my food and ordered some snacks.
I went into Etude House, The Face Shop, Holika Holika, and other cosmetic stores to shop for some makeup. Every face makeup was so much lighter than my darker complexion, but trying out the makeup samples was still fun. I did end up buying bottles of makeup remover, lip products and mascara, at least.
I went ahead in some clothing stores and bought the most Kpop looking outfits I could find. Since my sense of style wasn't that developed, I copied the outfits on the mannequins, or let the employees pick out clothes and put them together for me.
"Okay, girl, you really need to calm down on the spending for today," I scolded myself.
I kept my sight seeing and touring going along the streets of Myeongdong. I snapped all the pictures I could take and filmed as much as I could. The sun was growing much brighter and it was definitely heating up outside. I went to a Starbucks and got an aloe pear frozen tea. Their menu was much more diverse than what I was used to in Canada.
I kept walking around peacefully, sipping my drink and enjoying the market. I was so focused on my own business that I was completely taken aback by a man sprinting towards me. Everything happened so fast: the guy running into me, his chest slamming against my face, me literally getting knocked over backwards and falling butt first on the concrete, my bag of makeup and clothes, and camera flying out of my hands and landing all around me. As if it wasn't bad enough already, my expensive tea showering my head and shirt. I swore I saw a few stars from the shock once I recomposed myself, but I knew for damn sure that the idiot was not looking at where he was going when he legit almost struck me out of the country.
People all around stopped on their tracks to observe the scene. I got myself back up and picked up my items, making sure that nothing was broken. Thankfully nothing was too damaged, apart from my Canon suffering from a few scratches. I looked like a complete mess though. My face grew hot from anger and embarrassment. I faced the idiot and shot him missiles from my eyes.
"Yo what the hell, look at what you did to me, you ass! Are you blind?!" I spat, then proceeded to swear in all the French curse words that existed, maybe even inventing some new ones along the way.
"Omo, aghassi, jwoesonghamnida... Ohh, omo ottoke... Aish (Omg, miss, I'm sorry... Ohh, omg what should I do... Shoot)! I'm sorry, misseuh," he apologized, looking and feeling all bad about what had just happened.
I couldn't see his face because he was wearing a large cap and a black mask. I only saw his eyes. His useless and blind eyes. Before I could scold him some more, he apologized another time, bowed and ran off. It was then that i noticed a hoard of screaming teenage girls running towards me.
"Don't let him get away!" shouted a girl.
"Oppa, please wait!" screamed another.
"Oppa, we love you, don't run!" cried another girl.
Then it clicked. If that guy was hiding his face with a cap and mask, and running away from a group of girls chasing after him, then that probably means that... That blind idiot was a Kpop idol!
I completely forgot about my sticky situation and just stood there with my mouth wide open, watching them desperately running after the mysterious idol.
"Who the fuck was that guy?" I wondered.
