Chapter 29: Little Secret

"Hello?... Is anyone there?" Chanyeol asked through the phone.

As I didn't answer, he stayed silent for a few more seconds, but I caught him on time just before he would hang up.

"Chanyeol... Oppa... I-It's m-me, ______. D-Do you remember me?" I quietly asked, my voice cracking in between my words.

Silence reigned between us for a few moments, only our breaths being heard as the seconds passed.

"_____... Of course I remember you," Chanyeol finally spoke, igniting some hope within me. "I've been waiting for you to call me. What took you so long?... Wait, are you back in Korea, since you're not calling from a long distance number?" he asked.

I started to get nervous. I didn't exactly expect him to answer so I didn't have time to map out the things I was going to say. "You see, I-I have a lot of explaining to do... Chanyeol, I know its late, and you probably have a lot on your plate, so would you rather me call you some other time, or are you fine to talk over the phone now?"

"I'm free now, we're back at the dorm, and everyone is passed out, our schedule is done for today. But if we're gonna talk, I'd rather do it in person. I wanna see you, and catch up. Meet me at Hangang Park in 30 minutes, okay _____?"

I was dumbstruck. I really didn't plan for any of this to happen tonight. I should have hung up when he first answered, or never called him in the first place. "Uhh, but-..." I muttered but got cut by the Happy Virus.

"Why, what's wrong? Would you rather I come pick you up? Where are you?" he eagerly questionned.

"NO! No," I yelled back, but toning my voice down as I realized I didn't wanna sound like I was hiding something, "it's fine, I'll meet you there..."

"Good, see you there in 30 minutes, I can't wait to see you," Chanyeol excitedly voiced before hanging up in my face.

'Great. I have exactly 30 minutes to prepare what I have to say.' I thought to myself.

I picked up a small sweater from my drawer and a flat cap belonging to Rei that was sitting on her bed. I'm sure she wouldn't mind if I borrowed it for a short while.

I walked out of my room and went up to the maknaes' door, pressing my ear against it to make sure they were still asleep. Loud snores and deep breaths confirmed that they wouldn't be waking up anytime soon.

The dorm was awfully quiet, which was perfect. Everyone was fast asleep at this hour already. I snuck out of the building and walked towards the main road, where I caught the first taxi that passed beside me.

***At Hangang Park***

The park was so beautiful, with the moonlight shining down on the trees and the city glowing on the other side of the river.

It was a rather big place, so finding Chanyeol was going to be hard. I walked towards the bridge, enjoying the sound of my shoes clomping against the wood. I made sure to look around, hoping to see the EXO member, but no one was there.

I strolled towards the middle of the bridge, and stopped and stared at the view. It was already 11h30 on my phone, so I scrolled down my contacts to text him.
