Chapter 37: Welcome to SM

Kyungsoo's POV. It was 7am. The seven other EXO members and I were sitting around a long oval shaped table in the middle of the main conference room. Our manager, choreographers and vocal teachers were conversating in one corner of the room.

Kai, Sehun, and Xiumin were half asleep, whereas Suho, Chanyeol, Baekhyun and Chen were wondering why we had been called by Lee Soo Man in here so early in the morning instead of heading straight to practice, as we usually did.  

Of course, I was already aware of what he was going to tell us. He was going to announce a major change of plans for the next couple of days...

The CEO entered the room accompanied by a bodyguard and a talent manager. As soon as everyone saw him they ceased talking, straightened up and bowed. I nudged Kai in the rib cage to wake him up, tapped Sehun on the shoulder and Chen woke Xiumin.

"Modu moyeojuseyo (everyone please gather up)," Lee Soo Man ordered. The other adults stood by the wall and listened. 

He sat at the end of the table and looked at us. "EXO, I've called you here this morning with amazing news. As you know, YMC Entertainment has debuted their girl group 5 Nations a few weeks ago. Now, what I will tell you next is not shcoking to D.O., as he is the reason why YMC's CEO and I came up with this arrangement, right D.O-ssi?" 

I nodded and gulped as he directed his question solely to me. "Algessseubnida (yes sir)."

"Good. Well, to get straight to the point, you all will be collaborating with them for their debut stage. They should be coming here a little later today." The other members gasped in excitement and disbelief, staring at each other with mouths wide open. Their faces was worth a million dollars.

"Don't ask me how Tae Jin Ah came up with this... As much as I am happy with the astonishing success his group has with just one song in a few weeks, I know that he can get fairly creative and pretty intense with his... Projects." The boss took a breath and continued. "Anyhow, you all will be under the arrangement and direction of the talent department. They have prepared your acts with the 5 Nations members. Of course, D.O.-ssi will be exceptionally paired with ____-ssi, their leader, while the rest of you will be two or more with the other members."

He let everyone absorb what he had just said, then clapped his hand once. "I will leave you all to your work now, as I have work of my own. I'm too old to be doing anything creative like this anyways. I will be watching you through the TV broadcast of the show, so stress out, but not too much... I'm just teasing you all. Joha, joheun halu doela (Alright, have a good day)."

He stood up and bowed slightly, then left the room with the bodyguard running behind him. Everyone bowed as he passed and as soon as the door was closed, let out a breath of relaxation. A few seconds after, my bandmates flew out of their chairs and started screaming like a bunch of kids high on sugar, high-fiving and fist punching as they did. 

"OMO, I'm so excited!" cooed Sehun like a little child impatiently awaiting Christmas day. "We're going to see _____ again!!!"

"YEAH!!! Wow it's been so long since we saw her!" Baekhyun added.

"She looks even more beautiful now," Chanyeol stated quietly, but loud enough for me to hear. 

"Yah Chanyeol-hyung, remember, hands off," I declared as I gratified him with an evil look, "I AM the one paired up with her." He laughed and nodded.

"Guys, I wonder who I'll be paired up with! I bet my money on Xiumin-hyung's sister! She's so HOT!" Chen boasted, only to be smacked by Xiumin behind the head.

"YAH, don't talk about my sister that way, and NONE of you for that fact!" yelled Xiumin authoritatively. "She is beautiful, yes, so you may look, but you can't touch. If any of you do, I'll kill you all," he joked, but sounded dead serious at the same time.

"W-we s-swear, Minseok-hyung," stuttered Suho as he put his hands up, palms facing Xiumin and feet backing off.

Kai leaned to me and snickered. "Well, I guess I can kiss the chances of us being together for this collab goodbye." I put my arm around his shoulder and laughed too. "But hey, Kyungsoo-hyung, I'm proud of you," Kai whispered, "Are you still gonna go ahead with your, uhh, you know the thing you mentioned to me?" 

I looked at him and smiled. "Of course, I just have to tell manager-hyung about it. Don't tell anyone else, okay?"

"Mhm," Kai promised as he winked.

The talent manager stepped up at the end of the table and knocked on it, catching everyone's attention. We all excused ourselves and turned to her, sitting down as we did. The choreographers and vocal coaches walked behind her and formed a line.

"Jebal deuleuseyo, naneun dangsin timgwa dangsini dangsinui susjaleul wihae mueoseul haljileul malhago issseubnida (Please listen up, guys, I will be telling you your teams and what you will be doing for your numbers)..." End POV. 

When our van pulled up to SM Entertainment, we were greeted by a hoard of screaming fans. There was also some fanboys in the crowd, which was refreshing to see. Maybe they were Sehun's fanboys and for sure most of the fangirls were there for EXO or other SM bands, but we accepted their cheers and screams for us, waving their posters with our names and pictures on them. 'Damn I wasn't expecting them to be our fans too after all, LOL,' I told myself.

We entered the building and were received with a formal bow and welcoming smile by all the artists that we crossed and staff members walking around.

Super Junior's Heechul and Leeteuk ran up to us, grinning widely and flailing their hands in the air. 

"Annyeong hasimnikka eotteohke jinaeseyo (welcome, how are you?)," they beamed, "woooooaaaaahhhh, you girls are amazing!" shouted Heechul as he shook our hands violently out of excitement.

"We are such huge 5 Nations fans already, hihihi," admitted Leeteuk as he blushed. "Me and Heechul-ah can't wait to have you on our variety shows."

We bumped into Red Velvet's Joy, Seulgi and Wendy. They screamed and hugged us one by one. 

"Omo, ____-ssi?! Is that really you?!" Wendy questionned, hoping up and down.

"Yes, eonnie," I replied, laughing a little, "I look way different form since we met at M Countdown last year huh?"

"I love your hair!" Seulgi said to Lin, "I always dreamed of having pink hair too!" 

"Thanks, Seulgi-eonnie," acknowledged my pink headed member as her cheeks turned red.

"Your outfits are so pretty!" Joy blurted happily to Rei and Jui Yu, who smiled from ear to ear, then turning to Min Jee, said "Wow, you're really Xiumin's sister?" 

"Ye, Joy-eonnie, I'm younger by 9 years," Min Jee replied. "The fans went wild when our company announced that me and Minseok-oppa were siblings, hahaha."

After meeting a few more artists along the way, like NCT and Girl's Generation members, we were led to a conference room by staff members. Before Sung Jun got to the door, I turned to my members and granted them with a comforting smile as they looked somewhat nervous. 

"Okay girls, behind that door, is EXO. Don't worry I'm extremely nervous too, hahaha. Just act normally and be yourselves. They may be intimidating, I admit, but we too are stars now, so there's no reason to get all stressed out, right?" They fidgeted around a little bit and shook off the nerves, but looked up to me with a determined smile and nodded. "Good. The main reason we are here is to do business with them, so let's be on our best behavior as much as we can." I leaned in closer to them and whispered "But, there's no harm in being their friends too, no?" I winked and they giggled. "Alright, let's do this girls!"

I gave Sung Jun a signal. He knocked and entrance was granted. He turned the door knobs, and we entered the room.
