*** 3 months later ***
Its has been 3 months since the day I signed with YMC Entertainment. My life has changed so much in such a small amount of time. There were so many ups and downs along the way, like a real roller coaster ride.
The best part was that I got to bond so much with my dongsaengs. Like I anticipated during our first meeting, we did in fact get along well, even better than I expected. We spent every waking moment with each other, due to our training schedules.
We got each other's back when times were hard, cheering and helping one another out. The weakness of one was the strength of the other, and that's how we improved so much as an individual and as a group. For example, Jui Yu, Min Jee and I became much smoother dancers thanks to Rei and Lin, and those two polished their vocals thanks to us three. Outside of training, Min Jee taught us Hangul, which I was able to pick up quite rapidly.
I was roommates with Rei, and the three others shared a room together, but we often switched rooms amongst ourselves to be able to spend time with every other member as much as possible outside of our working hours.
We loved each other that much already, hahah. Although we haven't exactly learned everything about each other yet, we were pretty much like sisters at this point. Speaking a lot allowed us to discover that the amount of things we had in common was astonishing, for instance we found out that we all loved sushi and steak, had a common interest for arts, and liked the same movies.
All in all, it was as if we were meant to be forming a group together. Like EXO says for themselves, "we are one" too. Mr. Tae wasn't kidding when he said we were all "chosen ones".
With good things came some bad moments. Its just how life worked.
I lost so much weight due to the awfully demanding lifestyle we had to adapt to.We worked from 6am to 3am the next day, 24/7... Literally. Therefore we barely ate and hardly slept, and when we did, our diet was strict and sleep hours minimal.
We started our days with singing lessons, went for dance practice, had an hour for lunch, ran to to Korean class, had another hour for supper, and resumed memorizing songs and repeating choreographies until dawn. Depending on the days, we had acting courses and modelling bootcamps.
All the coaches were nice and patient, but pushed us to our limits and demanded perfection. It was their job to get us as ready as possible to debut, and time was flying by fast.
We would be so drained and exhausted after the day that Jui Yu seldom had minor injuries, Min Jee often got sick, Lin sometimes had emotional outbursts, and I had a very difficult time waking Rei up in the morning.
As the leader, the others leaned on me more often for physical and emotional support. I had to remain strong for them even when I wanted to break down in tears or was feeling ill.
The responsibility was excrutiatingly hard, but it shaped me in so many ways I didn't think possible emotionally, mentally, socially and physically.
We lived our lives under the radar. I still haven't gotten the chance to meet members of the debuted bands because the company did not mix them with the rest of the trainees during practices.
Anyhow, our schedules differed greatly, the sunbaes obviously busy with activities and promotions outside of the building.
As for us, we were pretty unaware of what was going on in the outside world. We barely had the time to rest, let alone the time to read newspapers, and even less time to call our families, or spend some downtime alone or together.
I missed my family and friends so much, and felt homesick from time to time. I was only grateful for our crazy occupied schedules because it permitted me to focus on improving with work instead of thinking about what I left back home. I literally had no time to think about anything else.

Sung Jun announced to us that we would be having our sunday off. Mr. Tae told wanted us to have a well-deserved break after seeing us work so hard for the past 3 months, and he needed us to stay as healthy as possible. He also said that the boss would be granting me a new phone, which was perfect because I didn't have one since I came to Korea.
I really was thankful to be in a company that cared so much about its idols, with the CEO acting like a father wanting the well-being of his kids.
The first thing I would be doing was obviously calling back home. I wanted to thank my family for everything and see how my friends were doing. I have to admit hearing their voices from the other side of the phone, but knowing that they were all so far away, got me in tears.
But they weren't the only ones I was missing...
My group members also took the time to call their friends and relatives. Everyone shed tears, but we were there to support each other.
After taking the whole morning and a part of the afternoon to recuperate from all the lost sleep and fatigue, we decided to go buy food and binge watch over a movie during the evening. We all dressed casually and didn't have to worry about hiding our faces yet. Masking ourselves in public would come later on, once we debut.
"So guys, what do you all wanna eat tonight?" I asked as we walked on the streets towards the main road.
Jui Yu chuckled and turned to me, her hair flowing with the wind as she did so. "Eonnie, is that even a question? Of course we want steak and sushi!" The others approved.
"Yeah that sounds so dope," asserted Rei as she made a thumbs up.
"Indeed, I do need some more iron in my diet. I feel so weak," voiced Lin, feeling her thin arms.
"I'm so hungry my stomach feels like its literally eating itself," complained Min Jee.
"Okay, hahaha we'll order from those places," I decided, pointing at two restaurants in front of us on the other side of the road. "Also, what movies do you want to watch later?"
My dongsaengs looked at each other and came up with a consensus.
"Let's do a movie marathon!" exclaimed Jui Yu and Min Jee as they jumped.
"Yeah, let's marathon on The Lord of the Rings," completed Rei and Lin.
I laughed and confirmed their choice. With our favorite foods in hand and beloved movies under our belt, we were sure to have an amazing end to our day off.

We went to the maknae line's room, since it was bigger: it had two beds, a TV and a small couch. We devoured our food in no time. Our imposed diets didn't really allow us to eat as much as we wanted, nor what we wanted. We went full out on our meal and enjoyed every bit of it.
We were halfway through the first movie, but Min Jee and Lin have already passed out, one sleeping on the other's lap, on the bed. We didn't bother waking them up, they looked so cosy, and frankly they needed to sleep. Jui Yu fell asleep on the floor near the end of the second movie, so Rei and I had to carry her to the couch. A little after beginning of the third movie, Rei also let sleep drift her away. Luckily she was already on the other bed.
I myself was feeling drowsy and tired, so I simply turned the TV off and put the take-out boxes in the trash. I looked around the room and admired my group mates. They were so young and pretty, yet very hardworking and dedicated to their dream. One day, it would all pay off.
I walked to the door and went to my room. I sat on my bed I looked at the clock on the wall. 11pm already. I should probably go to sleep too, but I was grateful for some alone time. I searched for my purse and dug out the one thing I wanted to find, to do the one thing I've been waiting to do when I finally had some privacy...
I knew it was late, and calling anyone at this hour was no guarantee that they would pick up, but I went ahead and took a chance. I dialed the number on the note and waited for it to ring. After the first five rings, I lost hope and was about to hang up, but the person on the other line suddenly picked up.
"Yeoboseyo?" Chanyeol's deep and husky voice whispered, making my heart race and my hand clutch my cellphone tighter.
