'God Jayy, why did you have to take so long to prove it?'
"So... Will you sing it for me?"
"Yeah, sure."
I sung through Serenity's Backlash and Jayy looked at the lyrics and dots as I sang.
"Now I can actually see how these dots help. They're a little confusing the first time, I'll admit, but I can still kinda see that general motion."
'We're so off track right now...'
I sighed and kissed him again, harder this time, and leaned him back into the wall. A moan sounded in his throat and he and I both smirked for a fraction of a second into the kiss.
This time when he licked my bottom lip, I let it separate slightly from my upper one. He licked again, alerting me that that obviously wasn't enough of an opening. I gasped as his warm breath filled my mouth, ironically allowing both him and more of his warm air into it.
I didn't quite get 'what' he was doing with his tongue or why, but it felt good and that seemed reason enough for the moment.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, loving the heat building up in the small bunk behind that curtain.
'If anyone saw us right now...'
Newsflash, the universe reads minds.
"Jayy, you forgot your pho-nice job man!"
I pushed off Jayy and was at the opposite side of the bunk in under a second. Jayy glared at him. "Dick..." he whispered under his pants (I realized that sounds awkward... Pants as in his breathing, he's panting cause of the kiss - Duh, I know, but I needed to explain so it didn't sound so awkward).
"I heard that," Dahvie informed him sarcastically.
"Good. It would've been wasted if you didn't." Jayy was giving him a total "God-I'd-Kill-You-If-You-Weren't-My-Best-Friend-And-I-Still-Might-Anyway" look.
Dahvie laughed. "Here." He handed Jayy his phone. "You left it in my bunk. Oh, and we're gonna be stopping soon, so get done so you can smoke your cigarette."
I whined. "We are 'so' not there yet."
Dahvie laughed. "I should hope not yet." He winked and walked away. "Have fun," he called over his shoulder.
"Wait..." Jayy said, shutting the curtain. "Y-Yet? As in we're 'somewhere'?"
I smiled. "You're worth it."
"Wh-Wha-? Really?"
"Whatever happens Jayy, however this ends, you're special to me. If a little tiny technically insignificant kiss is worth possibly totally pissing me off, then you've proven to me that there's no way you're rebounding. That was a risk you wouldn't have taken unless you really wanted that kiss. And since you didn't try to lead it anywhere, I know it wasn't about sex. So you've allayed my fears. The extra month would just be pointless torture for both of us. I'm tentative, not cruel."
"Then let me ask this the right way. Hunter, will you go out with me?"
I smiled and hugged him. "Hell yes."
"Yes!" Jayy said as if we'd won some prize. I laughed at him and pecked his lips.
"Wanna tell 'em?"
"Let's let Dahvie, he seems excited about it."
He laughed. "Alright. And if he doesn't tell them?"
"Then we let them figure it out. I wanna watch 'em squirm."
"You're evil," he said with a smirk and a mischievous glint in his eyes. "I like it."
