I sighed, hoping I was wrong and he really felt better being out in the open again.
I rested back against his arm and he wrapped it gently around me. I looked up questioningly at him and he smirked and whispered. "Cuddles."
I nodded and he cuddled with me, more playfully than hurt, unlike recently, and talked with the guys, answering little questions that were basically asking him how he was in a litter of ways. Still, he answered all of them and eventually we finished eating. Claiming right to the dishes, I went to get up, only to have Jayy tighten his grip around me.
"You've had to do everything for both of us lately. I've got this round."
"You sure?"
"Yeah. I've done dishes before, it's not too hard. I think I can do it." He chuckled and I smiled. Winking at me, he took the plates and went into the kitchen and begun washing the dishes. I had to admit he did 'seem' okay... I just wasn't sure.
'I'll ask him about it later'. I promised myself mentally.
Jayy stayed out with everyone for the rest of the night and we had a normal-ish time. Jayy even said he'd make the next stream, which was the coming Friday, three days away.
But, eventually, everyone had to go in to bed to get some sleep for the next day's show.
As everyone slipped off to bed I looked nervously at Jayy. "Yeah?" he asked gently.
"Am I staying with you again?"
"C-Could you?" I mentally sighed. I hated being right, at least about this.
"Of course Jayy."
He smiled weakly. "You knew it was all an act didn't you?"
"Of course I did Jayy. I spent the last two days cuddling with you on a cycle of crying and talking about things that made you cry. I know you're hurt, certainly too much to just be a hundred percent again the second you hop out of the bunk. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm happy you're trying and I'm glad to know you'll be okay for the fans, at least as far as they can tell, I just wish you didn't have to push yourself like that."
He let out a sigh. "I know... I just don't want anyone else, you included, to have to deal with this just because I am."
"It's okay Jayy, we're here for you. I've been doing this because I truly want to help you; to see you happy again. Legitimately happy too, not just acting. And I'll keep being here as long as you want me to, okay?"
"Okay. Could we go in then? Together?"
I smiled. "Of course Jayy. But, question, do you feel 'any' better?"
"Well, I don't intend to kill you for dragging me out here," he teased, smirking at me.
"That's good," I said, laughing at him. "Wanna get into actual pajamas?"
"Yeah, it'd feel nice not to sleep... Well "sleep"," he said, making the air-quotes, "in the outfits I've been wearing since the douchebag left me."
I nodded. "G'head," I said when he didn't move.
"Ladies first."
"Exactly," I teased evilly.
He laughed and hugged me, dropping a kiss on my cheek, then grabbed his pajamas and went into the bathroom.
It didn't hit me until he walked out shirtless that he'd only grabbed pants. I blushed. "J-Jayy..."
"What? 'Oh'." He smirked and cocked an eyebrow. "Problem with it?"
"N-No!" I picked up my clothes and went to run into the bathroom, but he grabbed and spun me, pulling me into his chest as I tried to go by him.
"You're blushing," he informed me, looking into my eyes. I realized how close he was to me and blushed harder. He smirked. "What?"
"You're close..."
"Aww," He laughed, "that's cute."
"Sh-Shut up and let me go."
"Oh, fine." He set me down and I ran in the bathroom, blushing like hell.
When I came back out he was laying in his bunk, still shirtless, but covered by the blanket. He lifted it up for me and I eyed him nervously. "Your pants are still on...yes?"
He laughed like hell, but managed a small "yes".
I got underneath and jumped as I realized he was in his boxers.
"On my ankles," he whispered in my ear.
"Jayy!" I yelled, laughing and hopping out of the bunk. "Put on pants!"
He laughed with me and pulled them back up. "Alright, they're on. Now c'mon, cuddles."
I slipped in and we cuddled and for once, fell asleep without any tears.
