"Hey, closed set here." Jayy came closer and I heard someone with him. 'Probably their bodyguard...they're worried.'
"Come on out and everything'll be fine," a deep voice said warningly. Yep, their bodyguard.
"You're gonna scare whoever's here. They certainly won't come out if they think you're gonna kill 'em," Jayy said, chuckling. "Come on out please."
"S-Sorry..." I walked out in front of him.
"Hunter?" He laughed. "You're allowed back here. We didn't know it was you. Wait a second, that was 'you' singing?"
"Maybe..."
"Well whoever it was had a damn good voice. Though I didn't recognize the song."
"Maybe whoever it was wrote it."
"And maybe it's in that notebook," Jayy said, motioning to the my notebook.
"Maybe. Either way, you'll never know." I walked passed him and went to the bus and hid my notebook and heard someone outside the bus. 'Nice try.' I thought playfully. I snuck back to the front of the bus and peeked over.
'Oh, just Danny and his friend.' They were talking as Danny sat on the trunk of his car.
I went back to the bus and buried the notebook in my stuff, setting it up perfectly, so it looked like nothing had touched it.
After triple checking to make sure that nothing looked suspicious, I got off the bus and went back to where they were and saw the crowd was already flooding in.
"On in five guys!"
"Yep!" Jayy called. "Hey Hunter," he said calmly as I walked up. "Wassup?"
"Nothin'."
"Where ya been?"
I smirked. "I know what you're doing."
"What am I doing?" He asked, faking innocence.
"You're trying to figure out where I ran with my notebook."
"Am I? Hmph. I didn't know I was that good."
"You aren't. I figured it out." I laughed and he did too.
"Fair enough," Jayy said. "I gotta get on stage."
"Alright. Break a leg." He smirked and hugged me and Dahvie came in and did the same. "So many hugs! Yay!"
They laughed at me. "Okay, we gotta go."
"Have fun!"
"We intend to."
They went out and were their funny, playful selves. Eventually, Jayy came to side-stage, where I was, and pulled me onstage.
"Ja-ayy...?" I whispered nervously.
"Ye-es?" He mocked me teasingly.
"Why am I onstage?"
"You'll find out. Got that song memorized?"
"Y-Yeah..."
"Perfect," he whispered. "Aaand," he started to the crowd as the song ended. "This is Hunter. 'She' thought she could hide being a singer and songwriter whilst living with us," Jayy said playfully.
Dahvie laughed. Obviously, Jayy told him while I was gone. "So what's her punishment?" Dahvie teased.
"Sing it. Or one of your others if you're more comfortable."
I sighed. "Okay..." Jayy handed me the mic. "Well, I guess, to go by my stage name, I'm AcidWashed Serenity, and this is 'Serenity's Backlash'." I took a deep breath and the guys walked to the drums. Jayy brought me up a stool and then went back and sat in front of the drumset.
I sat down and tried to relax. One more deep breath, and I started to sing.
"I'm not writin' this song for you pretty little bitches
Without a care in the world while our lives are in stitches.
I really don't care what the fuck you do,
Just leave us alone, Oh and fuck you too,"
Cause I'm not writin this song for the girls with broken hearts,
This song's for you if your world's broken apart,"
Cause we don't care, what you say to us, anymore.
We've been through enough, even without you-"
I continued through the song, mentally noting each and every one of my mistakes. But I got through it and it quickly became fun to be on that stage.
"What can I say?
Polish always fades, but my black dye's here to stay."
The crowd cheered. Actually cheered for me. I bowed. "Thank you guys so much!" I went and handed Jayy his mic back. "Thank you..." I mumbled, smiling and blushing.
He chuckled and took his mic, getting up with Dahvie. "How was she?" Dahv asked.
The crowd cheered. "Wanna help us put with our last song?" Dahvie asked me.
"Which?"
"Close. Bewitched."
I laughed. "I-I guess so. If you guys want me to. And them." I nodded up at the crowd.
They cheered and Jayy pointed offstage to where someone was holding a mic for me. I walked over and took it, still blushing. I'd never expected this, none of it. It was amazing and I'd have to thank Jayy and Dahvie a few times after I attacked them for springing this on me like the awesome beings they are.
I walked back onstage and we did the song.
"Alright guys, you've been great and we hate to end it, but it's time," Dahvie started his ending to the concert and I smiled. 'That was really fun. I see why they love doing this!'
Afterwards, we started to pack up their stuff.
"Hey, anyone seen Danny?" Jayy asked.
"I saw him outside the bus right before I came back."
"So it's on the 'bus'!"
"No," I said sarcastically. "I buried it!" He stuck my tongue out at me and I did the same, laughing at him as we continued to get stuff together.
