"I'm going to the bathroom real quick," Beth said as she slid out of the restaurant booth seat.

Beth insisted that the four of us, me, her, Grayson, and Ethan hang out after school, and get some lunch. She states that this is relationship bonding for the twins and me. An absolute horrible idea. An even more horrible idea for her to leave me alone with them.

This entire time, Grayson and Ethan have been keeping up an act that I'm already aware of. They've been laughing, engaging the conversation, and overall making it look like they're enjoying my company.

But, from time to time I've noticed either one of them glaring at me with anger built in their eyes. Or one of their jaws clench if Beth announces my name. And, the slight change in the tone of their voice while they're talking, if they see Beth has touched me. It's all every noticeable, just not to Beth.

"This is fucking ridiculous," Ethan muttered sipping his drink staring at me.

I nervoulsy gulped, "This wasn't my idea."

Grayson fake chuckled, "Yeah, I know. I'd expect you to be smarter than that even if it was. I thought we made our message clear, Damien. We don't fucking like you."

It's insane how different they are with me compared to Beth. Aggresive, rude, and intimidating is the vocab to express the way Grayson and Ethan are towards me when Beth isn't around.

"Guys, Beth is convinced that you two approve of me. Can you convince me?" I asked as kindly as I could.

Both, Ethan and Grayson bursted into laughter.

"Whatever, Damien. We're trying our best, truly," Grayson sadly said.

"Just a reminder, if you do absolutely anything to hurt Beth in any shape or form, I will royally fuck you up," Ethan emphasized the 'fuck'.

I nodded my head, wide eyed, scared. Beth, hurry up and come back.

"Damien, I know we sound like total dicks right now, but it's the fact that we have to see the girl we've been in love with for years, fall for a boy she just met. I'm sure you'd act the same way if you were in our postion," Ethan explained.

Grayson sighed, "We do want to give Beth that chance at happiness and love, but it hurts seeing her so happy with someone that isn't me."

Ethan and Grayson glanced at each other, some twin telepathy shit.

"We'll leave you alone, Damien," Grayson announced.

"Only for Beth. Only for her," Ethan informed me. "Only to see her happy, we'll leave you alone."

I looked at Grayson and he was nodding in agreement with Ethan.

Grayson reached his hand out and raised his brow, signaling me for a handshake. I took my hand out and shook it firmly. Then, Ethan did the same, and I shook his. The tension is finally relieved. Maybe Beth's horrible idea wasn't so horrible as I thought.

Finally, Beth came back and I sat up from the booth for her to slide in next to the wall, then I scooted back in.

"You guys conversate well?" Beth said smiling leaning her hesd on my shoulder.

I gave a look at Grayson and Ethan and they gave me a kind genuine smile, and I gave one back to them.

"Yeah, I guess you could say that," I said smirking.

A giant relief left my shoulders and I could finally breathe without having to look over my shoulder with the fear of getting jumped.
