"Stupid ass English project... ruining my Friday nights... at the fucking library," I mumbled to myself stepping foot inside my local library.
Kind of stupid of me, but I may have slightly procrastinated on my book report. It's due on Monday, and I haven't even checked out the book I'm doing it on, let alone even read it.
As soon as I entered the dusty quiet building, immediately I got conf used and concerned looks from the people around, probably as to why a guy that looks like me would be spending his Friday nights here.
I'm dressed in my black Adidas joggers, with my white Nike sneakers, and a green camouflauge t-shirt. I matched it with a black snap back hat, placing it backwards, pulling out little strands of hairs which I call my wings.
Not to be cocky, I'm not dressed like most of the intellectuals in this room.
I slyly scanned the room and saw most of these people were actually kids that looked around my age. But, they didn't look quiet as extroverted as I am. No offense.
A group of girls all reading the same book, probably in a book club or something, couldn't keep their eyes off me as I searched the book shelves for the book I was supposed to be doing my report on.
"Ugh, fuck," I groaned under my breath clenching my thigh as I was positioned in a squat examining the lower shelves.
I heard small giggles and chuckles come from the group of girls. They were probably laughing at me because of my stupidity with things like this.
I tilted my head over and glanced at them, finally making eye contact with them.
Immediately, their laughter went silent.
Slowly, I rose up to my towering height. As I did so, the three girls eyes followed me. I watched their eyes move in sync with my body lifting up.
Intimidatingly, I walked up to them and their little round wooden table and placed my hands onto the rims of the table, slightly lowering my head to be level with them.
One of the girls cleared her throat and another took a deep breath.
"Do any of you know where the book 'The Life of Picasso' is?" I muttered.
It took the three of them a little longer than normal to answer my question. They were all exploring my body with their eyes and catching a good look.
The one in the middle who was wearing pink glasses answered for me, "It's actually on the other side of the library. You're in the teen romance section."
A slight embarrassed chuckle left my lips, "Uh, okay, thanks."
I turned around and shuffled away to the place where the girls instructed me where the book I need would be.
I entered the art section of the library and instantly I saw multiple copies of 'The Life of Picasso'.
I picked up the large book and held it in my hand skimming through the rusty pages.
"Oh hell no," I complained to myself.
289 pages of information on a painter? There's no way I'm going to finish my project in time for Monday.
My eyes rolled over to the side and as they rolled they led to a girl sitting at a round wooden table all by herself. But, she was faced the other way, but I could just tell she would've been beautiful if she was facing me.
