After the dinner, the king brought us to a room, to show us something. Hoseok just followed with me but it gets scarier when we need to go to the basement.

"These are the weapons" The king said, looking at the spears, swords, shields, cannons and else.

"Are they- the kids going to use this??" i asked in shock. "Yes, who else? We are almost the only adults here. We need strength to defeat them" The King said, looking at me with his serious expression. "They are kids!"

"That's why, you are here" He walked to me and held my face with a hand. "Your power, it's splendid! We can use your power to turn them into puppets, that way, they won't feel the pain" He shook his head.

I pushed his hand away and stepped back. "Can't u understand? They won't get hurt, but if they died in the war during becoming a puppet, they will die in real life!"

"That means sacrificing" he smiled. "Screw you!" I shouted and ran away, back to my room. On my way, i bumped into a kid, she's the same one who was waiting for me while humming just now.

"Im sorry Miss Eve!" She bowed. I looked down at her and hugged my legs to face her. "Can u.. accompany me for a while?" i asked kindly

I changed to my normal sleep wear, which is a long sleeved shirt and comfortable pants. We both walked down, out from the palace and went to the nearest garden as we sat on the branch seat.

"Are u sure nobody is going to find us here?" I asked her. "Yes" She nodded. "The King won't be out during night time unless it's something important"

"How about Hoseok?"

"The magician? He is busy with his magic skills usually" She smiled. "Oh by the way, my name is Mary" She showed her bright smile.

"Mary.. what is your position in the palace? I mean--"

"Yes, i know what u mean. Every kids has works to do, just like adults since we dont have any except for three of you right?" She asked as i nodded.

This girl.. thinks like an adult.

"Im a maid. But we have shifts. I take care during the day and someone else during night"

"Oh is that so" I smiled. Im always thought of kids, playing a role in costume as a maid but now, it really happens.

"Why did u running just now?" She looked at me in confusion. "I told the King, that making u guy to join the army--"

I covered my mouth when i realised what i almost or, already said.

"It's okay" She looked up at me. "We all know about that, and we are not afraid" she grinned. "What?" i was feeling weird.

"They once killed our parents, they destroyed the town, they tortured us, but because of the king, we were saved. That's why, we will do our own revenge toward them"

She took out a locked that hid under the collarshirt and showed me while opening it. "Look, this is my dad and my mom" she pointed to the pictures. "How old are you Mary?"

"Five!" she smiled.

Oh god.

A drop of tear fell, caught Mary's attention. "You guys can't do it. I won't let you" I shook my head and closed my face with both hands.

Not too long after, she came and showed me a doll. "But, you can make us dont feel the pain right? that's why we are not afraid" She chuckled.

I removed the hands and she handed me the doll. I took and looked down to it. "Change it to your puppet please" She smiled happily.

I smiled and a small rose appeared just like how i did to Hoseok then put it into the doll's nape. When inserting the rose, nobody will feel the pain and no blood at all.

I placed it down and told her what to do as it began to walk toward Mary's legs. It jumped and sat next to Mary, hugging her. "I will always stay by your side, Mary" It spoke.

Mary laughed and lifted it up before hugged the doll. "Thank you!" She hugged tightly and looked up to me with a weak smile.

In sudden, someone hold my shoulder. It startled me and saw Hoseok as soon as i turned around a bit. "I need to talk with you for a while" Hoseok said with his serious tone.

"Mary, go play around first" Mary nodded and walked away, playing with her new alive doll.

Make her happy

I told the doll using my head and looked at Hoseok once again. "What is it?"

"You raised your tone, you cursed on him too" Hoseok commented. "I did not curse" I scoffed. "He is the King, we should obey him"

"Not me. Im not from this town and im not going to let the kids go to war"

I walked away but Hoseok stopped me by saying "If u want them to die here, without fighting, wasting the opportunity, go back to your home tonight"

I stopped and looked at him walking away. I gasped to hear such a thing from his mouth. Now it makes sense for what they send the kids to war. But i cant bear to see them dying, what should I do?

The next morning, i woke up and wore my usual clothes. Screw the royal dress, im going to be myself.

I went downstairs after i wore a short sleeved shirt with a shorts.

"Morning" i said to Hoseok who was trying his skills. Hoseok looked up to me and shocked to see me there. "i told you Hoseok, dont do your magic at--"

The king looked at me and having the same expression as Hoseok.

"Im sorry, about yesterday. I will help you"
