Between two Alphas (Part 2) Between Love and Hate

Vince's POV

I woke up to mom making coffee and moving around in the kitchen. I sat up slowly and leaned my head against the back cushion and watched as she made breakfast. It wasn't until she smiled and looked up that I knew she had known I was watching her.

“What?"

I shook my head and smiled.

“Nothing, how are you feeling?"

“Good, despite last night, I'm okay. I'm stronger than I look."

I nodded and got up going up to her and pulling her into my arms.

“I was worried."

I felt her sigh and wrap her arms around my waist.

“I'm sorry."

“Does that happen a lot?"

“It just started once your dad and I fully mated, but it only lasts while the full moon is out."

“That could be days until it's gone."

She pulled away and took my head.

“And I can handle it. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine."

“Has Christian always been like that towards you?"

She looked down, letting her hands fall to the side, but I stopped her before she moved away.

“Mom, tell me."

“Everyone has their moments."

“Yeah, but not like that. He looked like he was going to murder you."

She laughed then, going back to what she was doing before.

“You're dad has a temper, but it's only because it's his way of caring. You're dad grew up with hard parents and a silver spoon in his mouth, so for him to actually work for something like love is hard for him."

“Is that why you make it hard for him?"

She smirked.

“Where did you get that idea?"

“Come on mom, you like to push his buttons."

She shrugged.

“I guess you're right, but it's only because he pisses me off so easily."

“That's because you love him."

She didn't say anything, but with the smile on her face I knew she did. They could fight, argue, even scream their lungs out, but deep down inside they love each other, now if only I knew how to get them to finally see eye to eye on things?

“Vince, stay out of it."

I looked back at her and smiled.

“What? Can't a young man like myself want to see his parents happy?"

She raised an eyebrow.

“How about you worry about Josie and that baby of yours first?"

I groaned, grabbing the plate she was offering me.

“I don't want to talk about her."

“Well you're going to have to face the music eventually because that baby isn't going to stop growing any time soon."

“If she's pregnant at all."

“She's pregnant, Raylene told me this morning."

I stopped eating and looked at her.
