Between two Alphas (Part 2) Between Love and Hate
Maison's POV
I had seen mom for the last three weeks working her ass off trying to find who had killed Ben and the way she was losing weight being away from Christian wasn't sitting well with me.
When I went to see how she was doing she was packing and it was then that I knew she needed to go for her own health. I couldn't keep trying to keep her here out of guilt, that would be selfish and that's not how mom raised me, but my mind was made up even before Millie called me.
"It's a little late don't you think?"
"Sorry, I know, but I just wanted to talk to you."
"About what?"
"Your mom. Dad's going crazy and he's flown over there and I wanted to warn you before you got the surprise and did something to him."
"I know mom just got off the phone with him. She's packing as we speak."
She let out a breath making me smile.
"Worried that I would do something to him?"
"To him and your mom. Dad loves your mom and you know that and if it means he had to force her to go you know that he would."
"I know."
"Dad really loves her. I don't know what your mom has on him, but dad can't seem to function straight without her."
"That's because they're fully mated and mates like them need to be together at all times. Mom hasn't been herself either and was just coming to see how she was doing when I found her packing."
I sighed.
"I can see how much pain she's in, but she won't tell me even if I beg her."
"That's because she thinks she owes you something for all those years I guess, but you can't keep blaming them. Your father wasn't the nicest to her either."
"But that was my dad and she was his mate and your dad took that away."
"Dad was doing what was best for him and I know that's selfish, but look where she ended up, right back into his arms and if you would just stop and see, you would know that they are in love with each other. Your mom and my dad may not be mates by faith, but look at them, their perfect in every way. Dad is happier when she's around and so is your mom."
"But he still killed my father."
"Then kill me if that'll make you feel better."
I growled, how dare she ask me that?!
"Never!"
"Then, what can I do to make you stop hating my father?! It was eighteen years ago! Your dad was going to attack mine and kill him! If it were the other way around then what? Do you think your mom would have been happy with your mom because I don't think she would have!"
"Don't yell at me Emiliana!"
I could hear her huffing and puffing, but she eventually calmed down.
"I'm not stopping my mother from going, so if that's your only concern then don't worry."
"But I do worry, you're not the most predictable person out there."
"Predictable people are boring I like to be spontaneous."
"Yeah I know. Alright well I have to get back..."
