Chapter Twenty Two
Emilia's POV
"Emilia everything alright?"
I sighed, I knew I was going to scare her, but I needed to speak to her. I was so close to finding out who had killed Ben and all I needed was her help in finding out if my theory was correct. Then I would be back home and maybe Vince would consider speaking to me again and Christian forgiving me for not calling him at all.
"Everything is fine Millie. I just wanted to know if you could do me a favor and..."
My eyes almost popped out of my sockets when I saw what was pulling up.
"Emilia, what?"
"Your dad... he's here."
"What?! I told him to wait! UGH!"
She hung up while I ran down the stairs as Emily came out of her room.
"Emilia, don't do it!"
"Oh shut up."
I pushed past the guards and shifted.
'MOM!'
'He's here!'
'No, mom it's not him! Come back!'
But I wouldn't listen, it was him! Christian was here for me and there was nothing that was going to stop me from getting to him.
It only took me a couple of seconds before I came face to face with nothing. What the hell?
'Mom, you're having hallucinations.'
'ha?'
I turned and Maison came to a holt in front of me.
'Mom, I think...'
'I'm fine.'
I ran back and into the house. I was going crazy, maybe calling him wouldn't be such a bad idea.
"About time!"
I had to laugh; it was so good to hear his voice.
"I'm sorry."
"You were supposed to be back by now."
"Not until I finish what I came here to finish. I need more time."
"NO! You need to be here, with me!"
"No one knows more about that than I do. Christian please, I need more time then I'll be all yours again, I promise."
"Promises you never keep."
I sat down and sighed.
"It's been eighteen years Christian, you can't keep hating me for it."
"I wouldn't have to if you actually kept your promises."
"I know, but you make it so hard to keep them. I love you with all my heart, you know that."
"Do I?"
"You should!"
"I don't and the only way for you to prove that to me is by coming back home where you belong."
"I can't."
"Emilia I swear if you don't..."
"Please Christian, I can't go back if you two think I killed him. I don't think I can..."
