Between two Alphas (Part 2) Between Love and Hate
Christian's POV
I called Joe.
“Boss."
“Where are you?"
“Still at the hospital."
“I want you to tell me as soon as Ben and Maison come out."
“They all just left."
“Good, I'm on my way."
I hung up and stepped on it. I arrived at the hospital in no time, meeting him at the door.
“Let's go."
We walked in and no one was around. Perfect! I started sniffing, but the cleaning crew was in full mode.
“Boss, how are we going to find her?"
“Take that elevator and I'll take this one, call me if you find anything."
“Yes boss."
I took one and stopped at every floor trying to find a scent that was familiar. I was just at my breaking point when my heart gave way on my way down. I stopped immediately and got out. My heart began to beat faster and then slow down as I walked away, so I would turn around. I had to hide and dodge a couple of nurses, but I froze at one particular door.
I looked around for anyone and then made my way in. I could hear the machines, but most of all I could hear her breathing. I turned the corner and almost fell back. She was alive! My Emilia was alive and she was awake.
“Christian!"
“Mi Amor."
I went up to her and for the first time noticed she wasn't herself. She was pale and so skinny.
“Emilia what has happened to you?"
“Nothing, get out, how did you find me?"
I finished my step and sat down next to her, taking her hand which caused her to gasp and closer her eyes as if she had taken her first breath.
“Emilia, Mi Amor."
I knew who was by the door before he even appeared.
“Get away from her!"
I looked up and then down back at my Emilia.
“I said let her go!"
He went to stop me, but Emilia held up her hand.
“Vince, stop."
He stopped and then took the last step to her.
“Mom I'm sorry."
“Shhh... it's okay, it's not your fault."
Watching my son and his mother hug and cry made my heart soar.
“Emilia, where have you been?"
She then turned to me and removed her hand from my grasp.
“Christian I want you to meet your son."
Vince then looked up and glared at me.
“I'm not his son."
I was taken back, but I didn't show it.
“Vince..."
“No! After what he did to you?!"
“She wasn't supposed to die and she didn't, see she survived and you did too!"
